ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದ ಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದನು; ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದು ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು.

ಆಗ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲಾ ಅವರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದನೆಂದು ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಗಂಡ ಸರನ್ನೂ ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ದೇಶದ ಬಡವ ರನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ;
