ಇಗೋ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದರ ಯಾಜಕರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ದೇಶದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಾನೇ ಈ ಹೊತು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆಯ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

Jeremiah 26:12
ಆಗ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಪ್ರಧಾನರೆಲ್ಲ ರಿಗೂ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಮನೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾ ಗಿಯೂ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಇಗೋ, ಗೋಡೆಯ ಹೊರಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೂ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಆಗ ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನು ಸೀಮೋನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ--ನೀನು ಯೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನು, ನೀನು ಕೇಫನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವಿ ಅಂದನು. (ಕೇಫ ಅಂದರೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಎಂದರ್ಥ).
Jeremiah 38:18
ನೀನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗದಿದ್ದರೆ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡುವರು; ನೀನು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
