ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯ ರೊಂದಿಗೂ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಾರದಷ್ಟು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಮಾಡಿ ದರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹೌದು, ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ; ಆದರೂ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗ ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

2 Kings 16:10
ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿಗ್ಲತ್ಪಿಲೇಸೆರನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ರೂಪವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈ ಕೆಲಸದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ--ಅವು ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದ ದಮಸ್ಕ ದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದವು.

ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವರಾದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯ ರನ್ನೂ ನಾಯಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರಸ್ಥರು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸವಾರಿಮಾಡುವ ರಾಹುತರಾಗಿಯೂ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರಾ ಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವಂಥ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೋಹಿಸಿದಳು.

ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನಮಾಡಿ ಬಾಳನನ್ನೂ ಅಷ್ಟೋರೆತನ್ನೂ ಸಿರಿಯಾ ದೇಶದ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಚೀದೋನಿನ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿ ಸದೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದರು.
