Ecclesiastes 4:1
ಹೀಗೆ ನಾನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿಂಸೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾನು ಯೋಚಿಸಿದೆನು; ಹಿಂಸಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಕಣ್ಣೀರನ್ನೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವ ದನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದೆನು; ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸೆಪಡಿಸುವವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇತ್ತು; ಆದರೆ ಇವರನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸುವವನು ಯಾವನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

| the oppressions | הָ֣עֲשֻׁקִ֔ים | hāʿăšuqîm | HA-uh-shoo-KEEM |
| that | אֲשֶׁ֥ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| done are | נַעֲשִׂ֖ים | naʿăśîm | na-uh-SEEM |
| under | תַּ֣חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| the sun: | הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ | haššāmeš | ha-SHA-mesh |
| behold and | וְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| the tears | דִּמְעַ֣ת | dimʿat | deem-AT |
| oppressed, were as such of | הָעֲשֻׁקִ֗ים | hāʿăšuqîm | ha-uh-shoo-KEEM |
| and they had no | וְאֵ֤ין | wĕʾên | veh-ANE |
| comforter; | לָהֶם֙ | lāhem | la-HEM |
| and on the side | מְנַחֵ֔ם | mĕnaḥēm | meh-na-HAME |
| oppressors their of | וּמִיַּ֤ד | ûmiyyad | oo-mee-YAHD |
| there was power; | עֹֽשְׁקֵיהֶם֙ | ʿōšĕqêhem | oh-sheh-kay-HEM |
| but they had no | כֹּ֔חַ | kōaḥ | KOH-ak |
| comforter. | וְאֵ֥ין | wĕʾên | veh-ANE |
| לָהֶ֖ם | lāhem | la-HEM | |
| מְנַחֵֽם׃ | mĕnaḥēm | meh-na-HAME |
