ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಅರಸನು ನಮಗೆ ಸವಿಾಪ ಬಂಧು ವಾದದರಿಂದ; ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀವು ಕೋಪ ವಾಗಿರುವದೇನು? ನಾವು ಅರಸನ ಖರ್ಚಿನಿಂದ ಏನಾದರೂ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದೆವೋ? ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟನೋ ಅಂದರು.

ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು -- ಏರನು, ಓನಾನನು, ಶೇಲಾಹನು ಈ ಮೂವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಶೂನನ ಮಗ ಳಾದ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದವಳಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನಾದ ಏರನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
