2 Samuel 4:8
ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಈಷ್ಬೋ ಶೆತನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ತಲೆಯು. ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸೌಲ ನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.

ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಗೋಡೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುವೆನೆಂದು ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು. ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಎರಡು ಸಾರಿ ಅವನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
