ಆಗ ಅವರು ಎದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಧೂಪಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೆಗೆದು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕಿದ್ರೋನ್ ಹಳ್ಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಆಸನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮಾಕಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವಳು ಒಂದು ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತೋಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳನ್ನು ರಾಣಿಯಾಗಿರದ ಹಾಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಸನು ಅವಳ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದುಹಾಕಿ ಅದನ್ನು ತುಳಿದು ಕಿದ್ರೋನ್ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸ ವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಯಾವನ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ--ಯೆಹೂದದವರಿಗೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿ ನವರಿಗೂ ನೀವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬೀಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದವನು ಅವನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ?
