ಅಬೀಯ ನಿಗೂ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಯುದ್ಧ ಉಂಟಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಅಬೀಯನು ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರಾದ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನರಿದ್ದರು. ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಎಂಟು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಂದಿ ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
2 Chronicles 14:8
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದಿದರು. ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಸನಿಗೆ ಖೇಡ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಈಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿ ಯುವ ರಾಣುವೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಯೆಹೂದದವರು ಮೂರು ಲಕ್ಷಮಂದಿಯೂ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನಿನವರು ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವವರೂ, ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆಯುವವರೂ ಎರಡು ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಅವರ ಕೈಕೆಳಗೆ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿ ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹಳ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವ ಮೂರು ಲಕ್ಷದ ಏಳು ಸಾವಿರದ ಐನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಯುಳ್ಳ ಸೈನ್ಯವಿತ್ತು.
