ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೋಗಲು ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಎದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರು ಇಜ್ರೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಕಾಲು ಕುಂಟಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನಿದ್ದನು. ಇಜ್ರೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಸೌಲನೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಐದು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ದಾದಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿ ಹೋದಳು. ಅವಳು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಓಡಿದಾಗ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದು ಕುಂಟನಾದನು. ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನು.
