ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಏರಿ ಬರ ಮಾಡಿ ಯಾಕೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿದಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೌಲನು--ನಾನು ಬಹಳ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು. ಆತನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ವಾದರೂ ಸ್ವಪ್ನದ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
