1 Kings 16
1 ಬಾಷನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹನಾನೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೇಹುವಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಧೂಳಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆತ್ತಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ಇರಿಸಿದೆನು.
2 ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದಿ.
3 ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಬಾಷನ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮನೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
4 ಬಾಷನ ಕಡೆಯವನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಸಾಯುವ ವನನ್ನು ನಾಯಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುವವು. ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯವನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಲದೊಳಗೆ ಸಾಯುವವನನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುವವು.
5 ಆದರೆ ಬಾಷನ ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೂ ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯ ಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
6 ಬಾಷನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು; ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಹೂಣಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು; ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿ ದನು.
7 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಾಷನು ಯಾರೂಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮನೆ ಯವರ ಹಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ತನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹನಾನೀಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
8 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಾರನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ವರುಷ ಆಳಲಾರಂಭಿ ಸಿದನು.
9 ಆದರೆ ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಉಗ್ರಾಣಿಕ ನಾದ ಅರ್ಚನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಕುಡಿದು ಮತ್ತನಾಗಿ ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗ ಅರ್ಧ ರಥಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ರುವ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಜಿಮ್ರಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
10 ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿದನು.
11 ಅವನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಸಿಂಹಾ ಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಾಷನ ಮನೆ ಯವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು. ಅವನ ಬಂಧು ಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಂಡಸರಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ನನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
12 ಹೀಗೆ ಭಾಷನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಲನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ತಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ರಿಂದಲೂ
13 ಕರ್ತನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಬಾಷನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯು ಬಾಷನ ಮನೆಯ ವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದನು.
14 ಏಲನ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಗಳೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಅರಸು ಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
15 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳನೇವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯು ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ದಿವಸ ಆಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟ ಗಿಬ್ಬೆತೋನಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಾಗಿ ಇಳಿದಿರುವ
16 ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯು ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದಿರುವ ದಂಡಿನವರು ಕೇಳಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿನೊಳಗೆ ದಂಡಿನ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಒಮ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
17 ಆಗ ಒಮ್ರಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯ ರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗಿಬ್ಬೆತೋನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ತಿರ್ಚವನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
18 ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಹಿಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಅರಮನೆಯ ಅಂತಃಪುರದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಅರಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿ ಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟು ತಾನೂ ಸತ್ತನು.
19 ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನಮಾಡಿ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪ ಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಾರ್ಗ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ಅವನ ಪಾಪದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದು ಆಯಿತು.
20 ಜಿಮ್ರಿಯ ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಳಸಂಚೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸು ಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
21 ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಜನರು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಅರ್ಧ ಜನರು ಗೀನತನ ಮಗನಾದ ತಿಬ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅರ್ಧ ಜನರು ಒಮ್ರಿಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
22 ಆದರೆ ಒಮ್ರಿಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದ ಜನರು ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಿಬ್ನಿಯು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದನು. ಒಮ್ರಿಯು ಆಳಿದನು.
23 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಮೂವ ತ್ತೊಂದನೇ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಮ್ರಿಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು;
24 ತಿರ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು ಅವನು ಶೆಮೆರ್‌ ನಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ವೆಂಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಶೆಮೆರನೆಂಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ತಾನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ವೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
25 ಆದರೆ ಒಮ್ರಿಯು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ಮಾಡಿ ತನಗೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ ನಡೆದನು.
26 ಅದೇನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಸಕಲ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದವುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೋಪ ವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಡೆದನು.
27 ಆದರೆ ಒಮ್ರಿಯು ಮಾಡಿದ ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಅವನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಅವನ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
28 ಒಮ್ರಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹಾಬನು ಆಳಿದನು.
29 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಮೂವ ತ್ತೆಂಟನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಮ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹಾ ಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು;
30 ಆದರೆ ಒಮ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹಾಬನು ತನಗೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೆಟ್ಟತನಮಾಡಿದನು.
31 ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯು ವದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಪವಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಅವನು ಚೀದೋನ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಎತ್ಬಾಳನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಈಜೆಬೆಲಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡ ಬಿದ್ದನು.
32 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತಾನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಬಾಳನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಳನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ದನು,
33 ಅಹಾಬನು ತೋಪನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೆ ಅಹಾಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತನಗೆ ಮುಂಚಿನ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ವಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನಮಾಡಿದನು.
34 ಅವನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇತೇಲಿನವನಾದ ಹೀಯೇ ಲನು ಯೆರಿಕೋವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು; ಕರ್ತನು ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಅವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀರಾಮನೂ ಅದರ ಬಾಗಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅವನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗನಾದ ಸೆಗೂಬನೂ ಸತ್ತರು.
1 Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2 Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7 And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the Lord against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8 In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9 And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10 And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11 And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13 For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15 In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17 And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
19 For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
21 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23 In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
24 And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
25 But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all that were before him.
26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
29 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.
31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
34 In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.

1 നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മനസ്സു വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടു; അവന്നു ഉറക്കമില്ലാതെയായി.
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2 രാജാവിനോടു സ്വപ്നം അറിയിപ്പാൻ മന്ത്രവാദികളെയും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരെയും ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരെയും കല്ദയരെയും വിളിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചു; അവർ വന്നു രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു.
Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
3 രാജാവു അവരോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നംകണ്ടു; സ്വപ്നം ഓർക്കാഞ്ഞിട്ടു എന്റെ മനസ്സു വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
4 അതിന്നു കല്ദയർ അരാമ്യഭാഷയിൽ രാജാവിനോടു: രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ; സ്വപ്നം അടിയങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും; അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നുണർത്തിച്ചു.
Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
5 രാജാവു കല്ദയരോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതു: വിധി കല്പിച്ചു പോയി; സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങളെ കഷണംകഷണമായി ശകലിക്കയും വീടുകളെ കുപ്പക്കുന്നാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും,
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
6 സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിച്ചാലോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മാനവും പ്രതിഫലവും ബഹുമാനവും ലഭിക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പിൻ.
But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
7 അവർ പിന്നെയും: രാജാവു സ്വപ്നം അടിയങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും; അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.
They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
8 അതിന്നു രാജാവു മറുപടി കല്പിച്ചതു: വിധികല്പിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു നിങ്ങൾ കാലതാമസം വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു എന്നു എനിക്കു മനസ്സിലായി.
The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
9 നിങ്ങൾ സ്വപ്നം അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു വിധി മാത്രമേയുള്ളു; സമയം മാറുവോളം എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വ്യാജവും പൊളിവാക്കും പറവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ യോജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വപ്നം പറവിൻ; എന്നാൽ അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു എനിക്കു ബോധ്യമാകും.
But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
10 കല്ദയർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ഉത്തരം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചതു: രാജാവിന്റെ കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇല്ല; എത്രയും മഹാനും ബലവാനുമായ ഏതൊരു രാജാവും ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള കാര്യം ഒരു മന്ത്രവാദിയോടോ ആഭിചാരകനോടോ കല്ദയനോടോ ഒരിക്കലും ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
11 രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം പ്രയാസമുള്ളതാകുന്നു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ അതു അറിയിപ്പാൻ ജഡവാസമില്ലാത്ത ദേവന്മാർക്കല്ലാതെ മറ്റാർക്കും കഴികയില്ല.
And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
12 ഇതു ഹേതുവായിട്ടു രാജാവു കോപിച്ചു അത്യന്തം ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു ബാബേലിലെ സകല വിദ്വാന്മരെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കല്പന കൊടുത്തു.
For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
13 അങ്ങനെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുവാനുള്ള തീർപ്പു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ ദാനീയേലിനെയും കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും കൂടെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.
And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
14 എന്നാൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അകമ്പടിനായകനായി ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ കൊന്നുകളവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അർയ്യോക്കിനോടു ദാനീയേൽ ബുദ്ധിയോടും വിവേകത്തോടും കൂടെ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
15 രാജ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഇത്ര കഠിനകല്പന പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ അർയ്യോക്കിനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അർയ്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനോടു കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചു;
He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
16 ദാനീയേൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു തനിക്കു സമയം തരേണം എന്നും താൻ രാജാവിനോടു അർത്ഥം അറിയിക്കാമെന്നും ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
17 പിന്നെ ദാനീയേൽ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു, താനും കൂട്ടുകാരും ബാബേലിലെ ശേഷം വിദ്വാന്മാരോടുകൂടെ നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
18 ഈ രഹസ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കരുണ അപേക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം കൂട്ടുകാരനായ ഹനന്യാവോടും മീശായേലിനോടും അസർയ്യാവോടും കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചു.
That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 അങ്ങനെ ആ രഹസ്യം ദാനീയേലിന്നു രാത്രിദർശനത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു; ദാനീയേൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു:
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമം എന്നും എന്നേക്കും സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ; ജ്ഞാനവും ബലവും അവന്നുള്ളതല്ലോ.
Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 അവൻ കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും മാറ്റുന്നു; അവൻ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നീക്കുകയും രാജാക്കന്മാരെ വാഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവൻ ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകികൾക്കു ബുദ്ധിയും കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 അവൻ അഗാധവും ഗൂഢവുമായതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവൻ ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഉള്ളതു അറിയുന്നു; വെളിച്ചം അവനോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കുന്നു.
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായുള്ളോവേ, നീ എനിക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും ബലവും തന്നു, ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചതു ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചു രാജാവിന്റെ കാര്യം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തി സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.
I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
24 അതുകൊണ്ടു ദാനീയേൽ, ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ നിശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു നിയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന അർയ്യോക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: ബാബേലിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കരുതു; എന്നെ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
25 അർയ്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനെ വേഗം രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: രാജാവിനെ അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദാപ്രവാസികളിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
26 ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നും പേരുള്ള ദാനീയേലിനോടു രാജാവു: ഞാൻ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നവും അർത്ഥവും അറിയിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
27 ദാനീയേൽ രാജസാന്നിധിയിൽ ഉത്തരം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചതു: രാജാവു ചോദിച്ച ഗുപ്തകാര്യം വിദ്വാന്മാർക്കും ആഭിചാരകന്മാർക്കും മന്ത്രവാദികൾക്കും ശകുനവാദികൾക്കും രാജാവിനെ അറിയിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
28 എങ്കിലും രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഒരു ദൈവം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ഭാവികാലത്തു സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വപ്നവും പള്ളിമെത്തയിൽവെച്ചു തിരുമനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ദർശനങ്ങളും ആവിതു:
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
29 രാജാവേ, ഇനിമേൽ സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നുള്ള വിചാരം പള്ളിമെത്തയിൽവെച്ചു തിരുമനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായി; രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവൻ സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അറിയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
30 എനിക്കോ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന യാതൊരുത്തനെക്കാളും അധികമായ ജ്ഞാനം ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല, രാജാവിനോടു അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വിചാരം തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നും അത്രേ ഈ രഹസ്യം എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു.
But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
31 രാജാവു കണ്ട ദർശനമോ: വലിയൊരു ബിംബം; വലിപ്പമേറിയതും വിശഷശോഭ യുള്ളതുമായ ആ ബിംബം തിരുമുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു; അതിന്റെ രൂപം ഭയങ്കരമായിരുന്നു.
Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 ബിംബത്തിന്റെ തല തങ്കംകൊണ്ടും നെഞ്ചും കയ്യും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടും വയറും അരയും താമ്രംകൊണ്ടും തുട ഇരിമ്പു കൊണ്ടു
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
33 കാൽ പാതി ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടും പാതി കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ടും ആയയിരുന്നു.
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൈ തൊടാതെ ഒരു കല്ലു പറിഞ്ഞുവന്നു ബിംബത്തെ ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള കാലിൽ അടിച്ചു തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും താമ്രവും വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും ഒരുപോലെ തകർന്നു വേനൽക്കാലത്തു കളത്തിലെ പതിർപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു; ഒരിടത്തും തങ്ങാതവണ്ണം കാറ്റു അവയെ പറപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ബിംബത്തെ അടിച്ച കല്ലു ഒരു മഹാപർവ്വതമായിത്തീർന്നു ഭൂമിയിൽ ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
36 ഇതത്രേ സ്വപ്നം; അർത്ഥവും അടിയങ്ങൾ തിരുമനസ്സു അറിയിക്കാം.
This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
37 രാജാവേ, തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു രാജാധിരാജാവാകുന്നു; സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം തിരുമനസ്സിലേക്കു രാജത്വവും ഐശ്വര്യവും ശക്തിയും മഹത്വവും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38 മനുഷ്യർ പാർക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും അവരെയും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെയും അവൻ തൃക്കയ്യിൽ തന്നു, എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും തിരുമനസ്സിലെ അധിപതി ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ള തല തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
39 തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ശേഷം തിരുമേനിയെക്കാൾ താണതായ മറ്റൊരു രാജത്വവും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും വാഴുവാനിരിക്കുന്നതായി താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ള മൂന്നാമതൊരു രാജത്വവും ഉത്ഭവിക്കും.
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
40 നാലാമത്തെ രാജത്വം ഇരിമ്പുപോലെ ബലമുള്ളതായിരിക്കും; ഇരിമ്പു സകലത്തെയും തകർത്തു കീഴടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. തകർക്കുന്ന ഇരിമ്പുപോലെ അതു അവയെ ഒക്കെയും ഇടിച്ചു തകർത്തുകളയും.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
41 കാലും കാൽ വിരലും പാതി കളിമണ്ണും പാതി ഇരുമ്പുംകൊണ്ടുള്ളതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: അതു ഒരു ഭിന്നരാജത്വം ആയിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും ഇടകലർന്നതായി കണ്ടതുപോലെ അതിൽ ഇരിമ്പിന്നുള്ള ബലം കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.
And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 കാൽവിരൽ പാതി ഇരിമ്പും പാതി കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടു ആയിരുന്നതുപോലെ രാജത്വം ഒട്ടു ബലമുള്ളതും ഒട്ടു ഉടഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതും ആയിരിക്കും.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും ഇടകലർന്നതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: അവർ മനുഷ്യബീജത്താൽ തമ്മിൽ ഇടകലരുമെങ്കിലും ഇരിമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും തമ്മിൽ ചേരാതിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ തമ്മിൽ ചേരുകയില്ല.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44 ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം ഒരുനാളും നശിച്ചുപോകാത്ത ഒരു രാജത്വം സ്ഥാപിക്കും; ആ രാജത്വം വേറെ ഒരു ജാതിക്കു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല; അതു ഈ രാജത്വങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും തകർത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കയും എന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45 കൈ തൊടാതെ ഒരു കല്ലു പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു പറിഞ്ഞുവന്നു ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവും കളിമണ്ണും വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടതിന്റെ താല്പര്യമോ: മഹാദൈവം മേലാൽ സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ളതു രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വപ്നം നിശ്ചയവും അർത്ഥം സത്യവും ആകുന്നു.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
46 അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു ദാനീയേലിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു, അവന്നു ഒരു വഴിപാടും സൌരഭ്യവാസനയും അർപ്പിക്കേണമെന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനോടു:
Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
47 നീ ഈ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ പ്രാപ്തനായതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം ദൈവാധി ദൈവവും രാജാധികർത്താവും രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
48 രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനെ മഹാനാക്കി, അവന്നു അനേകം വലിയ സമ്മാനങ്ങളും കൊടുത്തു, അവനെ ബാബേൽസംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും അധിപതിയും ബാബേലിലെ സകലവിദ്വാന്മാർക്കും പ്രധാനവിചാരകനും ആക്കിവെച്ചു.
Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.
49 ദാനീയേലിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം രാജാവു ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവെയും ബാബേൽ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ കാര്യാദികൾക്കു മേൽവിചാരകരാക്കി; ദാനീയേലോ രാജാവിന്റെ കോവിലകത്തു പാർത്തു.
Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
