ದಾವೀದನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ--ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದವನು ನಾನಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಾನೇ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕುರಿಗಳಾದ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ದಯದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರು ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು.
