ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಹೊರಟರು, ಅವರು ಹೊರಟ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇವಕ ರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಡಕೊಂಡನು. ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನು ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೌಲನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಕರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
