அதற்குப்பின்பு கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் வந்து, அபியேஸ்ரியனான யோவாசின் ஊராகிய ஒப்ராவிலிருக்கும் ஒரு கர்வாலிமரத்தின்கீழ் உட்கார்ந்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய குமாரன் கிதியோன் கோதுமையை மீதியானியரின் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்கிறதற்காக, ஆலைக்குச் சமீபமாய் அதைப் போரடித்தான்.

கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் கில்காலிலிருந்து போகீமுக்கு வந்து: நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணி உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தில் நான் உங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்து விட்டு, உங்களோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையை நான் ஒருக்காலும் முறித்துப்போடுவதில்லை என்றும்,

கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அவளை வனாந்தரத்திலே சூருக்குப்போகிற வழியருகே இருக்கிற நீரூற்றண்டையில் கண்டு:

நான் அவளை ஆசீர்வதித்து, அவளாலே உனக்கு ஒரு குமாரனையும் தருவேன்; அவள் ஜாதிகளுக்குத் தாயாகவும், அவளாலே ஜாதிகளின் ராஜாக்கள் உண்டாகவும், அவளை ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன் என்றார்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: ஒரு உற்பவகாலத்திட்டத்தில் நிச்சயமாய் உன்னிடத்திற்கு திரும்ப வருவேன்; அப்பொழுது உன் மனைவியாகிய சாராளுக்கு ஒரு குமாரன் இருப்பான் என்றார். சாராள் அவருக்குப் பின்புறமாய்க் கூடாரவாசலில் இதைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ தன் புருஷனிடத்தில் வந்து: தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவர் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தார்; அவருடைய சாயல் தேவனுடைய தூதரின் சாயலைப்போல மகா பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது; எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தீர் என்று நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்கவில்லை; அவர் தம்முடைய நாமத்தை எனக்குச் சொல்லவுமில்லை.

அப்பொழுது மனோவா கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணி: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவரே, நீர் அனுப்பின தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் மறுபடியும் ஒருவிசை எங்களிடத்தில் வந்து, பிறக்கப்போகிற பிள்ளைக்காக நாங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியதை எங்களுக்குக் கற்பிப்பாராக என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

ஆகையால் அந்த ஸ்திரீ சீக்கிரமாய் ஓடி, இதோ, அன்று என்னிடத்தில் வந்தவர் எனக்குத் தரிசனமானார் என்று தன் புருஷனுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

சிலநாள் சென்றபின்பு அன்னாள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி, ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்று, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் அவனைக் கேட்டேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு சாமுவேல் என்று பேரிட்டாள்.

அவள் இருந்த வீட்டில் தேவதூதன் பிரவேசித்து: கிருபை பெற்றவளே வாழ்க, கர்த்தர் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறார், ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள் என்றான்.
