இவைகளுக்குப்பின்பு அரிமத்தியா ஊரானும், யூதருக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இயேசுவுக்கு அந்தரங்க சீஷனுமாகிய யோசேப்பு இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோகும்படி பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் உத்தரவு கேட்டான்; பிலாத்து உத்தரவு கொடுத்தான். ஆகையால் அவன் வந்து, இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

(இவன் இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றினவர்களில் ஒருவன். ஆனால் அவன் யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்து இதைப்பற்றி இதுவரை மக்களிடம் சொல்லவில்லை). யோசேப்பு இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துச்செல்ல, பிலாத்து அனுமதி தந்தான். ஆகையால் யோசேப்பு வந்து இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தை எடுத்துப் போனான்.
