1 हे मेरी बहिन, हे मेरी दुल्हिन, मैं अपनी बारी में आया हूं, मैं ने अपना गन्धरस और बलसान चुन लिया; मैं ने मधु समेत छत्ता खा लिया, मैं ने दूध और दाखमधु भी लिया॥ हे मित्रों, तुम भी खाओ, हे प्यारों, पियो, मनमाना पियो!
2 मैं सोती थी, परन्तु मेरा मन जागता था। सुन! मेरा प्रेमी खटखटाता है, और कहता है, हे मेरी बहिन, हे मेरी प्रिय, हे मेरी कबूतरी, हे मेरी निर्मल, मेरे लिये द्वार खोल; क्योंकि मेरा सिर ओस से भरा है, और मेरी लटें रात में गिरी हुई बून्दोंसे भीगी हैं।
3 मैं अपना वस्त्र उतार चुकी थी मैं उसे फिर कैसे पहिनूं? मैं तो अपने पांव धो चुकी थी अब उन को कैसे मैला करूं?
4 मेरे प्रेमी ने अपना हाथ किवाड़ के छेद से भीतर डाल दिया, तब मेरा हृदय उसके लिये उभर उठा।
5 मैं अपने प्रेमी के लिये द्वार खोलने को उठी, और मेरे हाथों से गन्धरस टपका, और मेरी अंगुलियों पर से टपकता हुआ गन्धरस बेण्डे की मूठों पर पड़ा।
6 मैं ने अपने प्रेमी के लिये द्वार तो खोला परन्तु मेरा प्रेमी मुड़कर चला गया था। जब वह बोल रहा था, तब मेरा प्राण घबरा गया था मैं ने उसको ढूंढ़ा, परन्तु न पाया; मैं ने उसको पुकारा, परन्तु उसने कुछ उत्तर न दिया।
7 पहरे वाले जो नगर में घूमते थे, मुझे मिले, उन्होंने मुझे मारा और घायल किया; शहरपनाह के पहरूओं ने मेरी चद्दर मुझ से छीन ली।
8 हे यरूशलेम की पुत्रियों, मैं तुम को शपथ धराकर कहती हूं, यदि मेरा प्रेमी तुम को मिल जाए, तो उस से कह देना कि में प्रेम में रोगी हूं।
9 हे स्त्रियों में परम सुन्दरी तेरा प्रेमी और प्रेमियों से किस बात में उत्तम है? तू क्यों हम को ऐसी शपथ धराती है?
10 मेरा प्रेमी गोरा और लाल सा है, वह दस हजार में उत्तम है।
11 उसका सिर चोखा कुन्दन है; उसकी लटकती हुई लटें कौवों की नाईं काली हैं।
12 उसकी आंखें उन कबूतरों के समान हैं जो दुध में नहा कर नदी के किनारे अपने झुण्ड में एक कतार से बैठे हुए हों।
13 उसके गाल फूलों की फुलवारी और बलसान की उभरी हुई क्यारियां हैं। उसके होंठ सोसन फूल हैं जिन से पिघला हुआ गन्धरस टपकता है॥
14 उसके हाथ फीरोजा जड़े हुए सोने के किवाड़ हैं। उसका शरीर नीलम के फूलों से जड़े हुए हाथीदांत का काम है।
15 उसके पांव कुन्दन पर बैठाये हुए संगमर्मर के खम्भे हैं। वह देखने में लबानोन और सुन्दरता में देवदार के वृक्षों के समान मनोहर है।
16 उसकी वाणी अति मधुर है, हां वह परम सुन्दर है। हे यरूशलेम की पुत्रियो, यही मेरा प्रेमी और यही मेरा मित्र है॥
1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

1 आदम की वंशावली यह है। जब परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य की सृष्टि की तब अपने ही स्वरूप में उसको बनाया;
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 उसने नर और नारी करके मनुष्यों की सृष्टि की और उन्हें आशीष दी, और उनकी सृष्टि के दिन उनका नाम आदम रखा।
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 जब आदम एक सौ तीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा उसकी समानता में उस ही के स्वरूप के अनुसार एक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ उसका नाम शेत रखा।
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 और शेत के जन्म के पश्चात आदम आठ सौ वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुईं।
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 और आदम की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ तीस वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 जब शेत एक सौ पांच वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने एनोश को जन्म दिया।
And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 और एनोश के जन्म के पश्चात शेत आठ सौ सात वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुईं।
And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 और शेत की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ बारह वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 जब एनोश नब्बे वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने केनान को जन्म दिया।
And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
10 और केनान के जन्म के पश्चात एनोश आठ सौ पन्द्रह वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां हुई।
And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 और एनोश की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ पांच वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 जब केनान सत्तर वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने महललेल को जन्म दिया।
And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:
13 और महललेल के जन्म के पश्चात केनान आठ सौ चालीस वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुई।
And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 और केनान की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ दस वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 जब महललेल पैंसठ वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने येरेद को जन्म दिया।
And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 और येरेद के जन्म के पश्चात महललेल आठ सौ तीस वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुई।
And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 और महललेल की कुल अवस्था आठ सौ पंचानवे वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 जब येरेद एक सौ बासठ वर्ष का हुआ, जब उसने हनोक को जन्म दिया।
And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
19 और हनोक के जन्म के पश्चात येरेद आठ सौ वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुई।
And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 और येरेद की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ बासठ वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया।
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 जब हनोक पैंसठ वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने मतूशेलह को जन्म दिया।
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 और मतूशेलह के जन्म के पश्चात हनोक तीन सौ वर्ष तक परमेश्वर के साथ साथ चलता रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुईं।
And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 और हनोक की कुल अवस्था तीन सौ पैंसठ वर्ष की हुई।
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 और हनोक परमेश्वर के साथ साथ चलता था; फिर वह लोप हो गया क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने उसे उठा लिया।
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
25 जब मतूशेलह एक सौ सत्तासी वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने लेमेक को जन्म दिया।
And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 और लेमेक के जन्म के पश्चात मतूशेलह सात सौ बयासी वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुईं।
And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 और मतूशेलह की कुल अवस्था नौ सौ उनहत्तर वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 जब लेमेक एक सौ बयासी वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने एक पुत्र जन्म दिया।
And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 और यह कहकर उसका नाम नूह रखा, कि यहोवा ने जो पृथ्वी को शाप दिया है, उसके विषय यह लड़का हमारे काम में, और उस कठिन परिश्रम में जो हम करते हैं, हम को शान्ति देगा।
And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 और नूह के जन्म के पश्चात लेमेक पांच सौ पंचानवे वर्ष जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे बेटियां उत्पन्न हुईं।
And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 और लेमेक की कुल अवस्था सात सौ सतहत्तर वर्ष की हुई: तत्पश्चात वह मर गया॥
And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 और नूह पांच सौ वर्ष का हुआ; और नूह ने शेम, और हाम और येपेत को जन्म दिया॥
And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
