Judges 19
1 उन दिनों में जब इस्राएलियों का कोई राजा न था, तब एक लेवीय पुरूष एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश की परली ओर परदेशी हो कर रहता था, जिसने यहूदा के बेतलेहेम में की एक सुरैतिन रख ली थी।
2 उसकी सुरैतिन व्यभिचार करके यहूदा के बेतलेहेम को अपने पिता के घर चली गई, और चार महीने वहीं रही।
3 तब उसका पति अपने साथ एक सेवक और दो गदहे ले कर चला, और उसके यहां गया, कि उसे समझा बुझाकर ले आए। वह उसे अपने पिता के घर ले गई, और उस जवान स्त्री का पिता उसे देखकर उसकी भेंट से आनन्दित हुआ।
4 तब उसके ससुर अर्थात उस स्त्री के पिता ने बिनती करके उसे रोक लिया, और वह तीन दिन तक उसके पास रहा; सो वे वहां खाते पिते टिके रहे।
5 चौथे दिन जब वे भोर को सबेरे उठे, और वह चलने को हुआ; तब स्त्री के पिता ने अपने दामाद से कहा, एक टुकड़ा रोटी खाकर अपना जी ठण्डा कर, तब तुम लोग चले जाना।
6 तब उन दोनों ने बैठकर संग संग खाया पिया; फिर स्त्री के पिता ने उस पुरूष से कहा, और एक रात टिके रहने को प्रसन्न हो और आनन्द कर।
7 वह पुरूष विदा होने को उठा, परन्तु उसके सुसर ने बिनती करके उसे दबाया, इसलिये उसने फिर उसके यहां रात बिताई।
8 पांचवें दिन भोर को वह तो विदा होने को सवेरे उठा; परन्तु स्त्री के पिता ने कहा, अपना जी ठण्डा कर, और तुम दोनों दिन ढलने तक रूके रहो। तब उन दोनों ने रोटी खाई।
9 जब वह पुरूष अपनी सुरैतिन और सेवक समेत विदा होने को उठा, तब उसके ससुर अर्थात स्त्री के पिता ने उस से कहा, देख दिन तो ढला चला है, और सांझ होने पर है; इसलिये तुम लोग रात भर टिके रहो। देख, दिन तो डूबने पर है; सो यहीं आनन्द करता हुआ रात बिता, और बिहान को सवेरे उठ कर अपना मार्ग लेना, और अपने डेरे को चले जाना।
10 परन्तु उस पुरूष ने उस रात को टिकना न चाहा, इसलिये वह उठ कर विदा हुआ, और काठी बान्धे हुए दो गदहे और अपनी सुरैतिन संग लिए हुए यबूस के साम्हने तक (जो यरूशलेम कहलाता है) पहुंचा।
11 वे यबूस के पास थे, और दिन बहुत ढल गया था, कि सेवक ने अपने स्वामी से कहा, आ, हम यबूसियों के इस नगर में मुड़कर टिकें।
12 उसके स्वामी ने उस से कहा, हम पराए नगर में जहां कोई इस्राएली नहीं रहता, न उतरेंगे; गिबा तक बढ़ जाएंगे।
13 फिर उसने अपने सेवक से कहा, आ, हम उधर के स्थानों में से किसी के पास जाएं, हम गिबा वा रामा में रात बिताएं।
14 और वे आगे की ओर चले; और उनके बिन्यामीन के गिबा के निकट पहुंचते पहुंचते सूर्य अस्त हो गया,
15 इसलिये वे गिबा में टिकने के लिये उसकी ओर मुड़ गए। और वह भीतर जा कर उस नगर के चौक में बैठ गया, क्योंकि किसी ने उन को अपने घर में न टिकाया।
16 तब एक बूढ़ा अपने खेत के काम को निपटाकर सांझ को चला आया; वह तो एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश का था, और गिबा में परदेशी हो कर रहता था; परन्तु उस स्थान के लोग बिन्यामीनी थे।
17 उसने आंखें उठा कर उस यात्री को नगर के चौक में बैठे देखा; और उस बूढ़े ने पूछा, तू किधर जाता, और कहां से आता है?
18 उसने उस से कहा, हम लोग तो यहूदा के बेतलेहम से आकर एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश की परली ओर जाते हैं, मैं तो वहीं का हूं; और यहूदा के बेतलेहेम तक गया था, और यहोवा के भवन को जाता हूं, परन्तु कोई मुझे अपने घर में नहीं टिकाता।
19 हमारे पास तो गदहों के लिये पुआल और चारा भी है, और मेरे और तेरी इस दासी और इस जवान के लिये भी जो तेरे दासों के संग है रोटी और दाखमधु भी है; हमें किसी वस्तु की घटी नहीं है।
20 बूढ़े ने कहा, तेरा कल्याण हो; तेरे प्रयोजन की सब वस्तुएं मेरे सिर हों; परन्तु रात को चौक में न बिता।
21 तब वह उसको अपने घर ले चला, और गदहों को चारा दिया; तब वे पांव धोकर खाने पीने लगे।
22 वे आनन्द कर रहे थे, कि नगर के लुच्चों ने घर को घेर लिया, और द्वार को खटखटा-खटखटाकर घर के उस बूढ़े स्वामी से कहने लगे, जो पुरूष तेरे घर में आया, उसे बाहर ले आ, कि हम उस से भोग करें।
23 घर का स्वामी उनके पास बाहर जा कर उन से कहने लगा, नहीं, नहीं, हे मेरे भाइयों, ऐसी बुराई न करो; यह पुरूष जो मेरे घर पर आया है, इस से ऐसी मूढ़ता का काम मत करो।
24 देखा, यहां मेरी कुंवारी बेटी है, और इस पुरूष की सुरैतिन भी है; उन को मैं बाहर ले आऊंगा। और उनका पत-पानी लो तो लो, और उन से तो जो चाहो सो करो; परन्तु इस पुरूष से ऐसी मूढ़ता का काम मत करो।
25 परन्तु उन मनुष्यों ने उसकी न मानी। तब उस पुरूष ने अपनी सुरैतिन को पकड़कर उनके पास बाहर कर दिया; और उन्होंने उस से कुकर्म किया, और रात भर क्या भोर तक उस से लीला क्रीड़ा करते रहे। और पह फटते ही उसे छोड़ दिया।
26 तब वह स्त्री पह फटते हुए जाके उस मनुष्य के घर के द्वार पर जिस में उसका पति था गिर गई, और उजियाले के होने तक वहीं पड़ी रही।
27 सवेरे जब उसका पति उठ, घर का द्वार खोल, अपना मार्ग लेने को बाहर गया, तो क्या देखा, कि मेरी सुरैतिन घर के द्वार के पास डेवढ़ी पर हाथ फैलाए हुए पड़ी है।
28 उसने उस से कहा, उठ हम चलें। जब कोई न बोला, तब वह उसको गदहे पर लादकर अपने स्थान को गया।
29 जब वह अपने घर पहुंचा, तब छूरी ले सुरैतिन को अंग अंग करके काटा; और उसे बारह टुकड़े करके इस्राएल के देश में भेज दिया।
30 जितनोंने उसे देखा, वे सब आपस में कहने लगे, इस्राएलियों के मिस्र देश मे चले आने के समय से ले कर आज के दिन तक ऐसा कुछ कभी नहीं हुआ, और न देखा गया; सो इस को सोचकर सम्मति करो, और बताओ॥
1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehem-judah.
2 And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father’s house to Bethlehem-judah, and was there four whole months.
3 And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father’s house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
4 And his father in law, the damsel’s father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
5 And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.
6 And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel’s father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry.
7 And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
8 And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart: and the damsel’s father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
9 And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
10 But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
11 And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
12 And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
13 And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
14 And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin.
15 And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging.
16 And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
17 And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?
18 And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehem-judah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehem-judah, but I am now going to the house of the Lord; and there is no man that receiveth me to house.
19 Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which is with thy servants: there is no want of any thing.
20 And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.
21 So he brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.
22 Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
23 And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.
24 Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.
25 But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
26 Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.
27 And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.
28 And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place.
29 And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.
30 And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
Joshua 11 in Tamil and English
1 ହାତସୋର ରାଜା ୟାବୀନ ଏହିକଥା ଶୁଣିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସେ ମନସ୍ତ କଲେ, କେତକେ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ସୈନ୍ଯବାହୀନିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଏକତ୍ର କରିବେ। ସେ ମାଦୋନର ରାଜା ୟୋବବ, ଶିମ୍ରୋଣର ରାଜା ଓ ଅକ୍ଷଫର ରାଜାଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ପଠାଇଲେ।
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2 ଏବଂ ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ଉତ୍ତର ପାର୍ବତୀଯ ଦେଶର ରାଜାଗଣଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆରବଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ଗାଲିଲି ହ୍ରଦର ଦକ୍ଷିଣକକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ପଶ୍ଚିମସ୍ଥ ପାର୍ବତୀଯ ମାଳଭୂମିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଓ ପଶ୍ଚିମ ରେ ଦଫୋନ ଦୋରଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ।
And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
3 ୟାବୀନ୍ ପୂର୍ବ ଓ ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଦେଶୀଯ କିଣାନୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ଇମାରେୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ହିତ୍ତୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ପରିଷୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ପର୍ବତସ୍ଥ ୟିବୂଷୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଓ ହର୍ମୋଣର ଅଧଃସ୍ଥିତ ମିସ୍ପି ଦେଶୀଯ ହିଦ୍ଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ପଠାଇଲେ।
And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
4 ତହିଁରେ ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ସୈନ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଅଶ୍ବାରୋହୀ, ରଥା ରୋହୀମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହେଲେ। ଏହା ଥିଲା ଏକ ବିରାଟ ସୈନ୍ଯ ଛାଉଣୀ। ଏହା ଦଖାେ ଯାଉଥିଲା ସତେ ଯେପରି, ସମକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ର ତୀରସ୍ଥ ବାଲକ୍ସ୍ଟକା ତକ୍ସ୍ଟଲ୍ଯ, ଶସ୍ଯ କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ପରି।
And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
5 ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜାମାନେ ଏକ େଛାଟ ନଦୀ ମରେୋମ୍ କୂଳ ରେ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହେଲେ। ଏବଂ ଏହି ଛାଉଣୀ ରେ ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହେଲେ। ଏବଂ ଏହିଠା ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବିରକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତକ୍ସ୍ଟତ କଲେ।
And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 ଏହାପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯିହାଶୂେୟଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ କହିଲେ, ସେ ସମସ୍ତ ୈସନ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରନାହିଁ। ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସହାୟ ହବେି। ଆସନ୍ତା କାଲି ଏହି ସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ହତ୍ଯା କରିବ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଘୋଡାମାନଙ୍କୁ େଛାଟା କରି ଦବେ ଓ ରଥଗୁଡିକୁ ପୋଡି଼ ଦବେ।
And the Lord said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
7 ଏହାପରେ ୟିହୋଶୂଯ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ଯବାହିନୀ ସହିତ ଆସି ହଠାତ୍ ମରେୋମ୍ ନଦୀ କୂଳ ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ।
So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
8 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସହାୟ ହେଲେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ। ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ ଓ ମହାସୀଦୋନ ଓ ମିଷ୍ରଫୋତ୍ ମଯିମ୍ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଆଉ ପୂର୍ବ ଦିଗ ରେ ମିସ୍ପିର ସମସ୍ଥଳି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଘଉଡାଇ ନେଲେ। ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ସମାନଙ୍କେର କହେି ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସଂହାର କଲେ।
And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
9 ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ଏହିପରି କଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯେପରି କରିବାକୁ କହିଥିଲେ। ସେ ଘୋଡାମାନଙ୍କୁ େଛାଟାକରି ଦେଲେ ଓ ରଥଗକ୍ସ୍ଟଡିକ ପୋଡି଼ ଦେଲେ।
And Joshua did unto them as the Lord bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
10 ଏହାପରେ ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ଫରେି ଆସିଲେ ଓ ହାତ୍ସୋର ସହରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ କରଗତ କଲେ ଓ ତା'ର ରାଜାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଖଣ୍ତା ରେ ଆଘାତ କଲେ। ପୂର୍ବରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହାତ୍ସୋର ସହେି ସବୁ ରାଜ୍ଯର ମୂଖ୍ଯ ସହର ଥିଲା।
And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
11 ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସୈନ୍ଯମାନେ ସେ ସହରର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସହରର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକକୁ ଧ୍ବଂସ କଲେ। ଜଣକକ୍ସ୍ଟ କାହାରିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଜୀବିତ ଛାଡିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ପରେ ସମାନେେ ହାତ୍ସୋର ସହରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅଗ୍ନି ସଂୟୋଗ କଲେ।
And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
12 ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ସେ ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜକୀଯ ସହରଗକ୍ସ୍ଟଡିକ ନିଜ ଅଧିନକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆଣିଲେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ସଐୂର୍ଣ ଭାବେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଏହି ସହର ରାଜାଗଣଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଧ୍ବଂସ କଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସବେକ ମାଶାେ ଏହିପରି ଭାବରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ।
And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord commanded.
13 ମାତ୍ର ନିଜ ନିଜ କକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ ଉପରେ ସ୍ଥାପିତ ନଗରମାନ ମଧ୍ଯରକ୍ସ୍ଟ କବଳେ ହାତ୍ସୋର ବିନା ଆଉ କୌଣସି ନଗର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ତାହା ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ଦଗ୍ଧ କଲେ।
But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
14 ଆଉ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସହେି ସବୁ ନଗରର ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯାଦି ଓ ପଶକ୍ସ୍ଟଗଣଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ନିଜ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଲକ୍ସ୍ଟଟ୍ କରି ନେଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଖଣ୍ତା ଦ୍ବାରା ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ସମାନେେ କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଜୀବିତ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ।
And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
15 ବହକ୍ସ୍ଟଦିନ ପୂର୍ବରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନିଜର ସବେକ ମାଶାଙ୍କେକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଯେପରି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦଇେଥିଲେ, ସହେିପରି ମାଶାେ ଯିହାଶୂେୟଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ। ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ମଧ୍ଯ ସହେିପରି କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିଥିଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଯେପରି ଆଜ୍ଞାମାନ ଦଇେଥିଲେ, ସେ ସବୁ କଥାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ କୌଣସିଟିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅନ୍ୟଥା କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.
16 ଏହିପରି ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ସହେିସବୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ ଓ ସଠାେରେ ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ନଗଭେ ଓ ଗୋଶନର ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଓ ପଶ୍ଚିମସ୍ଥ ତଳଭୂମି ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶ ଓ ତହିଁର ତଳ ଭୂମିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ନିଜ ଅଧିନକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆଣିଲେ।
So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
17 ସଯେୀରଗାମୀ ହାଲକ୍ ପର୍ବତଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହର୍ମୋଣ ପର୍ବତର ନୀଚସ୍ଥ ଲିବା ନୋନ୍ ସମସ୍ଥଳୀ ରେ ଥିବା ବାଲଗାଦ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ହସ୍ତଗତ କଲେ। ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜାଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ।
Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
18 ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ଏହିସବୁ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବହକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସମୟ ଧରି ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କଲେ।
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19 କବଳେ ଗୋଟିଏ ନଗର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ସହିତ ଶାନ୍ତି ଚକ୍ସ୍ଟକ୍ତି କଲେ। ତାହା ଥିଲା ଗିବିଯୋନ ନିବାସୀ ହିଦ୍ଦୀଯ। ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତ ସହର ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଧ୍ବଂସପ୍ରାଲ୍ଗ ହେଲା।
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
20 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ହୃଦଯ କଠିନ କଲେ। ଯେପରି ସମାନେେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବିପକ୍ଷ ରେ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆସିବେ ଓ ସଂପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣରୂପେ ବିନା କରୁଣା ରେ ଧ୍ବଂସ ହବେେ। ଏହା ମାଶାଙ୍କେକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞାନକ୍ସ୍ଟସା ରେ ହେଲା।
For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the Lord commanded Moses.
21 ସହେି ସମୟରେ ୟିହୋଶୂଯ ଆସି ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶରକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ହିବ୍ରୋଣରକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ଦବୀରରକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ଅନାବରକ୍ସ୍ଟ, ଓ ୟିହକ୍ସ୍ଟଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ପର୍ବତମଯ ଦେଶରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅନାକୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ନଗର ସମତେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବର୍ଜିତ ରୂପେ ନିବାସ କଲେ।
And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
22 ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଦେଶ ରେ ଅନାକୀଯମାନଙ୍କର କହେି ହେଲେ ଜୀବିତ ରହିଲେ ନାହିଁ। କବଳେ ଘାସ ରେ ଗାତ ଓ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦ ରେ କହେି କହେି ରହିଗଲେ।
There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
23 ଏହିପରି ଭାବରେ ମାଶାଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାନକ୍ସ୍ଟସା ରେ, ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ହସ୍ତଗତ କଲେ ଓ ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ବଂଶର ବିଭାଗନକ୍ସ୍ଟସା ରେ ଅଧିକାର କରିବାକୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ତାହା ଦେଲେ। ତେଣୁ ଦେଶ ଯୁଦ୍ଧରୁ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ପାଇଲା।
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
