Jeremiah 17
1 यहूदा का पाप लोहे की टांकी और हीरे की नोक से लिखा हुआ है; वह उनके हृदयरूपी पटिया और उनकी वेदियों के सींगों पर भी खुदा हुआ है।
2 उनकी वेदियां और अशेरा नाम देवियां जो हरे पेड़ों के पास और ऊंचे टीलों के ऊपर हैं, वे उनके लड़कों को भी स्मरण रहती हैं।
3 हे मेरे पर्वत, तू जो मैदान में है, तेरी धन-सम्पत्ति और भण्डार मैं तेरे पाप के कारण लुट जाने दूंगा, और तेरे पूजा के ऊंचे स्थान भी जो तेरे देश में पाए जाते हैं।
4 तू अपने ही दोष के कारण अपने उस भाग का अधिकारी न रहने पाएगा जो मैं ने तुझे दिया है, और मैं ऐसा करूंगा कि तू अनजाने देश में अपने शत्रुओं की सेवा करेगा, क्योंकि तू ने मेरे क्रोध की आग ऐसी भड़काई जो सर्वदा जलती रहेगी।
5 यहोवा यों कहता है, श्रापित है वह पुरुष जो मनुष्य पर भरोसा रखता है, और उसका सहारा लेता है, जिसका मन यहोवा से भटक जाता है।
6 वह निर्जल देश के अधमूए पेड़ के समान होगा और कभी भलाई न देखेगा। वह निर्जल और निर्जन तथा लोनछाई भूमि पर बसेगा।
7 धन्य है वह पुरुष जो यहोवा पर भरोसा रखता है, जिसने परमेश्वर को अपना आधार माना हो।
8 वह उस वृक्ष के समान होगा जो नदी के तीर पर लगा हो और उसकी जड़ जल के पास फैली हो; जब घाम होगा तब उसको न लगेगा, उसके पत्ते हरे रहेंगे, और सूखे वर्ष में भी उनके विषय में कुछ चिन्ता न होगी, क्योंकि वह तब भी फलता रहेगा।
9 मन तो सब वस्तुओं से अधिक धोखा देने वाला होता है, उस में असाध्य रोग लगा है; उसका भेद कौन समझ सकता है?
10 मैं यहोवा मन की खोजता और हृदय को जांचता हूँ ताकि प्रत्येक जन को उसकी चाल-चलन के अनुसार अर्थात उसके कामों का फल दूं।
11 जो अन्याय से धन बटोरता है वह उस तीतर के समान होता है जो दूसरी चिडिय़ा के दिए हुए अंडों को सेती है, उसकी आधी आयु में ही वह उस धन को छोड़ जाता है, और अन्त में वह मूढ़ ही ठहरता है।
12 हमारा पवित्र आराधनालय आदि से ऊंचे स्थान पर रखे हुए एक तेजोमय सिंहासन के समान है।
13 हे यहोवा, हे इस्राएल के आधार, जितने तुझे छोड देते हैं वे सब लज्जित होंगे; जो तुझ से भटक जाते हैं उनके नाम भूमि ही पर लिखे जाएंगे, क्योंकि उन्होंने बहते जल के सोते यहोवा को त्याग दिया है।
14 हे यहोवा मुझे चंगा कर, तब मैं चंगा हो जाऊंगा; मुझे बचा, तब मैं बच जाऊंगा; क्योंकि मैं तेरी ही स्तुति करता हूँ।
15 सुन, वे मुझ से कहते हैं, यहोवा का वचन कहां रहा? वह अभी पूरा हो जाए!
16 परन्तु तू मेरा हाल जानता है, मैं ने तेरे पीछे चलते हुए उतावली कर के चरवाहे का काम नहीं छोड़ा; न मैं ने उस आने वाली विपत्ति के दिन की लालसा की है; जो कुछ मैं बोला वह तुझ पर प्रगट था।
17 मुझे न घबरा; संकट के दिन तू ही मेरा शरणस्थान है।
18 हे यहोवा, मेरी आशा टूटने न दे, मेरे सताने वालों ही की आशा टूटे; उन्हीं को विस्मित कर; परन्तु मुझे निराशा से बचा; उन पर विपत्ति डाल और उन को चकनाचूर कर दे!
19 यहोवा ने मुझ से यों कहा, जा कर सदर फाटक में खड़ा हो जिस से यहूदा के राजा वरन यरूशलेम के सब रहने वाले भीतर-बाहर आया जाया करते हैं;
20 और उन से कह, हे यहूदा के राजाओं और सब यहूदियों, हे यरूशलेम के सब निवासियों, और सब लोगो जो इन फाटकों में से हो कर भीतर जाते हो, यहोवा का वचन सुनो।
21 यहोवा यों कहता है, सावधान रहो, विश्राम के दिन कोई बोझ मत उठाओ; और न कोई बोझ यरूशलेम के फाटकों के भीतर ले आओ।
22 विश्राम के दिन अपने अपने घर से भी कोई बोझ बाहर मत लेओ और न किसी रीति का काम काज करो, वरन उस आज्ञा के अनुसार जो मैं ने तुम्हारे पुरखाओं को दी थी, विश्राम के दिन को पवित्र माना करो।
23 परन्तु उन्होंने न सुना और न कान लगाया, परन्तु इसके विपरीत हठ किया कि न सुनें और ताड़ना से भी न मानें।
24 परन्तु यदि तुम सचमुच मेरी सुनो, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, और विश्राम के दिन इस नगर के फाटकों के भीतर कोई बोझ न ले आओ और विश्रामदिन को पवित्र मानो, और उस में किसी रीति का काम काज न करो,
25 तब तो दाऊद की गद्दी पर विराजमान राजा, रथों और घोड़ों पर चढ़े हुए हाकिम और यहूदा के लोग और यरूशलेम के निवासी इस नगर के फाटकों से हो कर प्रवेश किया करेंगे और यह नगर सर्वदा बसा रहेगा।
26 और लोग होमबलि, मेलबलि अन्नबलि, लोबान और धन्यवादबलि लिए हुए यहूदा के नगरों से और यरूशलेम के आसपास से, बिन्यामीन के देश और नीचे के देश से, पहाड़ी देश और दक्खिन देश से, यहोवा के भवन में आया करेंगे।
27 परन्तु यदि तुम मेरी सुन कर विश्राम के दिन को पवित्र न मानो, और उस दिन यरूशलेम के फाटकों से बोझ लिए हुए प्रवेश करते रहो, तो मैं यरूशलेम के फाटकों में आग लगाऊंगा; और उस से यरूशलेम के महल भी भस्म हो जाएंगे और वह आग फिर न बुझेगी।
1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
2 Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.
16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
19 Thus said the Lord unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the Lord.
27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

1 और यहोवा का दूत गिलगाल से बोकीम को जा कर कहने लगा, कि मैं ने तुम को मिस्र से ले आकर इस देश में पहुंचाया है, जिसके विषय में मैं ने तुम्हारे पुरखाओं से शपथ खाई थी। और मैं ने कहा था, कि जो वाचा मैं ने तुम से बान्धी है, उसे मैं कभी न तोडूंगा;
And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
2 इसलिये तुम इस देश के निवासियों वाचा न बान्धना; तुम उनकी वेदियों को ढा देना। परन्तु तुम ने मेरी बात नहीं मानी। तुम ने ऐसा क्यों किया है?
And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
3 इसलिये मैं कहता हूं, कि मैं उन लोगों को तुम्हारे साम्हने से न निकालूंगा; और वे तुम्हारे पांजर में कांटे, और उनके देवता तुम्हारे लिये फंदे ठहरेंगे।
Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
4 जब यहोवा के दूत ने सारे इस्राएलियों से ये बातें कहीं, तब वे लोग चिल्ला चिल्लाकर रोने लगे।
And it came to pass, when the angel of the Lord spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5 और उन्होंने उस स्थान का नाम बोकीम रखा। और वहां उन्होंने यहोवा के लिये बलि चढ़ाया॥
And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.
6 जब यहोशू ने लोगों को विदा किया था, तब इस्राएली देश को अपने अधिकार में कर लेने के लिये अपने अपने निज भाग पर गए।
And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
7 और यहोशू के जीवन भर, और उन वृद्ध लोगों के जीवन भर जो यहोशू के मरने के बाद जीवित रहे और देख चुके थे कि यहोवा ने इस्राएल के लिये कैसे कैसे बड़े काम किए हैं, इस्राएली लोग यहोवा की सेवा करते रहे।
And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord, that he did for Israel.
8 निदान यहोवा का दास नून का पुत्र यहोशू एक सौ दस वर्ष का हो कर मर गया।
And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
9 और उसको तिम्नथेरेस में जो एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में गाश नाम पहाड़ की उत्तर अलंग पर है, उसी के भाग में मिट्टी दी गई।
And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
10 और उस पीढ़ी के सब लोग भी अपने अपने पितरों में मिल गए; तब उसके बाद जो दूसरी पीढ़ी हुई उसके लोग न तो यहोवा को जानते थे और न उस काम को जो उसने इस्राएल के लिये किया था॥
And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
11 इसलिये इस्राएली वह करने लगे जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा है, और बाल नाम देवताओं की उपासना करने लगे;
And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim:
12 वे अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर यहोवा को, जो उन्हें मिस्र देश से निकाल लाया था, त्यागकर पराये देवताओं की उपासना करने लगे, और उन्हें दण्डवत किया; और यहोवा को रिस दिलाई।
And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.
13 वे यहोवा को त्याग कर के बाल देवताओं और अशतोरेत देवियों की उपासना करने लगे।
And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
14 इसलिये यहोवा का कोप इस्राएलियों पर भड़क उठा, और उसने उन को लुटेरों के हाथ में कर दिया जो उन्हें लूटने लगे; और उसने उन को चारों ओर के शत्रुओं के आधीन कर दिया; और वे फिर अपने शत्रुओं के साम्हने ठहर न सके।
And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
15 जहां कहीं वे बाहर जाते वहां यहोवा का हाथ उनकी बुराई में लगा रहता था, जैसे यहोवा ने उन से कहा था, वरन यहोवा ने शपथ खाई थी; इस प्रकार से बड़े संकट में पड़ गए।
Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
16 तौभी यहोवा उनके लिये न्यायी ठहराता था जो उन्हें लूटने वाले के हाथ से छुड़ाते थे।
Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
17 परन्तु वे अपने न्यायियों की भी नहीं मानते थे; वरन व्यभिचारिन की नाईं पराये देवताओं के पीछे चलते और उन्हें दण्डवत करते थे; उनके पूर्वज जो यहोवा की आज्ञाएं मानते थे, उनकी उस लीक को उन्होंने शीघ्र ही छोड़ दिया, और उनके अनुसार न किया।
And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.
18 और जब जब यहोवा उनके लिये न्यायी को ठहराता तब तब वह उस न्यायी के संग रहकर उसके जीवन भर उन्हें शत्रुओं के हाथ से छुड़ाता था; क्योंकि यहोवा उनका कराहना जो अन्धेर और उपद्रव करने वालों के कारण होता था सुनकर दु:खी था।
And when the Lord raised them up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Lord because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
19 परन्तु जब न्यायी मर जाता, तब वे फिर पराये देवताओं के पीछे चलकर उनकी उपासना करते, और उन्हें दण्डवत करके अपने पुरखाओं से अधिक बिगड़ जाते थे; और अपने बुरे कामों और हठीली चाल को नहीं छोड़ते थे।
And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
20 इसलिये यहोवा का कोप इस्राएल पर भड़क उठा; और उसने कहा, इस जाति ने उस वाचा को जो मैं ने उनके पूर्वजों से बान्धी थी तोड़ दिया, और मेरी बात नहीं मानी,
And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
21 इस कारण जिन जातियों को यहोशू मरते समय छोड़ गया है उन में से मैं अब किसी को उनके साम्हने से न निकालूंगा;
I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
22 जिस से उनके द्वारा मैं इस्राएलियों की परीक्षा करूं, कि जैसे उनके पूर्वज मेरे मार्ग पर चलते थे वैसे ही ये भी चलेंगे कि नहीं।
That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
23 इसलिये यहोवा ने उन जातियों को एकाएक न निकाला, वरन रहने दिया, और उसने उन्हें यहोशू के हाथ में भी उन को न सौंपा था॥
Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
