Isaiah 23:4
हे सीदोन, लज्जित हो, क्योंकि समुद्र ने अर्थात समुद्र के दृढ़ स्थान ने यह कहा है, मैं ने न तो कभी जन्माने की पीड़ा जानी और न बालक को जन्म दिया, और न बेटों को पाला और न बेटियों को पोसा है।

| travail I | לֹֽא | lōʾ | loh |
| not, | חַ֣לְתִּי | ḥaltî | HAHL-tee |
| nor | וְלֹֽא | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| bring forth children, | יָלַ֗דְתִּי | yāladtî | ya-LAHD-tee |
| neither | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| up nourish I do | גִדַּ֛לְתִּי | giddaltî | ɡee-DAHL-tee |
| young men, | בַּחוּרִ֖ים | baḥûrîm | ba-hoo-REEM |
| nor bring up | רוֹמַ֥מְתִּי | rômamtî | roh-MAHM-tee |
