उस ने उन से कहा; कि यशायाह ने तुम कपटियों के विषय में बहुत ठीक भविष्यद्ववाणी की; जैसा लिखा है; कि ये लोग होठों से तो मेरा आदर करते हैं, पर उन का मन मुझ से दूर रहता है।

யெருபாகாலின் 70 மகன்களையும் அபிமெலேக்கு கொன்றிருந்தான். அவர்கள் அபிமெலேக்கின் சொந்த சகோதரர்கள்! இத்தவறான காரியத்தைச் செய்வதற்கு சீகேமின் தலைவர்கள் அவனுக்கு உதவினர். எனவே தேவன் அபிமெலேக்கிற்கும் சீகேம் மனிதர்களுக்குமிடையே ஒரு தீய ஆவியை அனுப்பினார். அபிமெலேக்கை தாக்குவதற்கு சீகேமின் தலைவர்கள் திட்டமிட்டனர்.
