उन्होंने उस से कहा, हम से हो सकता है: यीशु ने उन से कहा: जो कटोरा मैं पीने पर हूं, तुम पीओगे; और जो बपतिस्मा मैं लेने पर हूं, उसे लोगे।

ஆனால், தண்ணீரின் மேல் நடந்து சென்றபொழுது பேதுரு காற்றடிப்பதையும் அலைகள் வீசுவதையும் கண்டான். பயந்து போன பேதுரு, நீரில் மூழ்க ஆரம்பித்தான். உடனே பேதுரு “ஆண்டவரே, என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்” என்று அலறினான்.
