परन्तु वह उन के विचार जानता था; इसलिये उसने सूखे हाथ वाले मनुष्य से कहा; उठ, बीच में खड़ा हो: वह उठ खड़ा हुआ।

யெருபாகாலின் 70 மகன்களையும் அபிமெலேக்கு கொன்றிருந்தான். அவர்கள் அபிமெலேக்கின் சொந்த சகோதரர்கள்! இத்தவறான காரியத்தைச் செய்வதற்கு சீகேமின் தலைவர்கள் அவனுக்கு உதவினர். எனவே தேவன் அபிமெலேக்கிற்கும் சீகேம் மனிதர்களுக்குமிடையே ஒரு தீய ஆவியை அனுப்பினார். அபிமெலேக்கை தாக்குவதற்கு சீகேமின் தலைவர்கள் திட்டமிட்டனர்.
