क्योंकि कनानी वरन इस देश के सब निवासी यह सुनकर हम को घेर लेंगे, और हमारा नाम पृथ्वी पर से मिटा डालेंगे; फिर तू अपने बड़े नाम के लिये क्या करेगा?

காற்று பலமாக இருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, பயந்து, மூழ்கும்போது: ஆண்டவரே, என்னை இரட்சியும் என்று கூப்பிட்டான்.

ஆனால், தண்ணீரின் மேல் நடந்து சென்றபொழுது பேதுரு காற்றடிப்பதையும் அலைகள் வீசுவதையும் கண்டான். பயந்து போன பேதுரு, நீரில் மூழ்க ஆரம்பித்தான். உடனே பேதுரு “ஆண்டவரே, என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்” என்று அலறினான்.
