अय्यूब 42:11
तब उसके सब भाई, और सब बहिनें, और जितने पहिले उसको जानते पहिचानते थे, उन सभों ने आकर उसके यहां उसके संग भोजन किया; और जितनी विपत्ति यहोवा ने उस पर डाली थी, उस सब के विषय उन्होंने विलाप किया, और उसे शान्ति दी; और उसे एक एक सिक्का ओर सोने की एक एक बाली दी।

அவர்கள் மாராவிற்கு வந்தபோது, மாராவின் தண்ணீர் கசப்பாக இருந்ததால் அதைக் குடிக்க அவர்களுக்கு முடியாமல் இருந்தது; அதினால் அந்த இடத்திற்கு மாரா என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டது.

மூன்று நாட்களுக்குப் பின் ஜனங்கள் மாராவிற்கு வந்தனர். மாராவில் தண்ணீர் இருந்தது. ஆனால் குடிக்க முடியாதபடி கசப்பாக இருந்தது. (இதனால் அந்த இடம் மாரா என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது)
