यिर्मयाह 24

1 जब बाबुल का राजा नबूकदनेस्सर, यहोयाकीम के पुत्र यहूदा के राजा यकोन्याह को, और यहूदा के हाकिमों और लोहारों और और कारीगरों को बंधुआ कर के यरूशलेम से बाबुल को ले गया, तो उसके बाद यहोवा ने मुझ को अपने मन्दिर के सामहने रखे हुए अंजीरों के दो टोकरे दिखाए।

2 एक टोकरे में तो पहिले से पके अच्छे अच्छे अंजीर थे, और दूसरे टोकरे में बहुत निकम्मे अंजीर थे, वरन वे ऐसे निकम्मे थे कि खाने के योग्य भी न थे।

3 फिर यहोवा ने मुझ से पूछा, हे यिर्मयाह, तुझे क्या देख पड़ता है? मैं ने कहा, अंजीर; जो अंजीर अच्छे हैं सो तो बहुत ही अच्छे हैं, परन्तु जो निकम्मे हैं, सो बहुत ही निकम्मे हैं; वरन ऐसे निकम्मे हैं कि खाने के योग्य भी नहीं हैं।

4 तब यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,

5 कि इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, जैसे अच्छे अंजीरों को, वैसे ही मैं यहूदी बंधुओं को जिन्हें मैं ने इस स्थान से कसदियों के देश में भेज दिया है, देख कर प्रसन्न हूंगा।

6 मैं उन पर कृपादृष्टि रखूंगा और उन को इस देश में लौटा ले आऊंगा; और उन्हें नाश न करूंगा, परन्तु बनाऊंगा; उन्हें उखाड़ न डालूंगा, परन्तु लगाए रखूंगा।

7 मैं उनका ऐसा मन कर दूंगा कि वे मुझे जानेंगे कि मैं यहोवा हूँ; और वे मेरी प्रजा ठहरेंगे और मैं उनका परमेश्वर ठहरूंगा, क्योंकि वे मेरी ओर सारे मन से फिरेंगे।

8 परन्तु जैसे निकम्मे अंजीर, निकम्मे होने के कारण खाए नहीं जाते, उसी प्रकार से मैं यहूदा के राजा सिदकिय्याह और उसके हाकिमों और बचे हुए यरूशलेमियों को, जो इस देश में वा मिस्र में रह गए हैं, छोड़ दूंगा।

9 इस कारण वे पृथ्वी के राज्य राज्य में मारे मारे फिरते हुए हु:ख भोगते रहेंगे; और जितने स्थानों में मैं उन्हें बरबस निकाल दूंगा, उन सभों में वे नामधराई और दृष्टांत और श्राप का विषय होंगे।

10 और मैं उन में तलवार चलाऊंगा, और महंगी और मरी फैलाऊंगा, और अन्त में इस देश में से जिसे मैं ने उनके पुरखाओं को और उन को दिया, वे मिट जाएंगे।

1 The Lord shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the Lord, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

3 Then said the Lord unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

4 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

5 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the Lord, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

ஆனாலும் பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்புகிறவர்கள் எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து யூதா தேசத்திற்குக் கொஞ்சம் பேராய்த் திரும்புவார்கள்; அப்படியே எகிப்துதேசத்தில் தங்கியிருக்க வந்த யூதாவில் மீதியான அனைவரும் அக்காலத்தில் தங்களுடைய வார்த்தையோ, என் வார்த்தையோ, யாருடைய வார்த்தை உண்மையாகும் என்று அறிவார்கள்.
