यहेजकेल 33
1 यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,
2 हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, अपने लोगों से कह, जब मैं किसी देश पर तलवार चलाने लगूं, और उस देश के लोग किसी को अपना पहरुआ कर के ठहराएं,
3 तब यदि वह यह देख कर कि इस देश पर तलवार चला चाहती है, नरसिंगा फूंक कर लोगों को चिता दे,
4 तो जो कोई नरसिंगे का शब्द सुनने पर न चेते और तलवार के चलने से मर जाए, उसका खून उसी के सिर पड़ेगा।
5 उसने नरसिंगे का शब्द सुना, परन्तु न चेता; सो उसका खून उसी को लगेगा। परन्तु, यदि वह चेत जाता, तो अपना प्राण बचा लेता।
6 परन्तु यदि पहरुआ यह देखने पर कि तलवार चला चाहती है नरसिंगा फूंक कर लोगों को न चिताए, और तलवार के चलने से उन में से कोई मर जाए, तो वह तो अपने अधर्म में फंसा हुआ मर जाएगा, परन्तु उसके खुन का लेखा मैं पहरुए ही से लूंगा।
7 इसलिये, हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, मैं ने तुझे इस्राएल के घराने का पहरुआ ठहरा दिया है; तु मेरे मुंह से वचन सुन सुनकर उन्हें मेरी ओर से चिता दे।
8 यदि मैं दुष्ट से कहूं, हे दुष्ट, तू निश्चय मरेगा, तब यदि तू दुष्ट को उसके मार्ग के विषय न चिताए, तो वह दुष्ट अपने अधर्म में फंसा हुआ मरेगा, परन्तु उसके खून का लेखा में तुझी से लूंगा।
9 परन्तु यदि तू दुष्ट को उसके मार्ग के विषय चिताए कि वह अपने मार्ग से फिरे और वह अपने मार्ग से न फिरे, तो वह तो अपने अधर्म में फंसा हुआ मरेगा, परन्तु तू अपना प्राण बचा लेगा।
10 फिर हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, इस्राएल के घराने से यह कह, तुम लोग कहते हो, हमारे अपराधों और पापों का भार हमारे ऊपर लदा हुआ है और हम उसके कारण गलते जाते हैं; हम कैसे जीवित रहें?
11 सो तू ने उन से यह कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मेरे जीवन की सौगन्ध, मैं दुष्ट के मरने से कुछ भी प्रसन्न नहीं होता, परन्तु इस से कि दुष्ट अपने मार्ग से फिर कर जीवित रहे; हे इस्राएल के घराने, तुम अपने अपने बुरे मार्ग से फिर जाओ; तुम क्यों मरो?
12 और हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, अपने लोगों से यह कह, जब धमीं जन अपराध करे तब उसका धर्म उसे बचा न सकेगा; और दुष्ट की दुष्टता भी जो हो, जब वह उस से फिर जाए, तो उसके कारण वह न गिरेगा; और धमीं जन जब वह पाप करे, तब अपने धर्म के कारण जीवित न रहेगा।
13 यदि मैं धमीं से कहूं कि तू निश्चय जीवित रहेगा, और वह अपने धर्म पर भरोसा कर के कुटिल काम करने लगे, तब उसके धर्म के कामों में से किसी का स्मरण न किया जाएगा; जो कुटिल काम उसने किए हों वह उन्ही में फंसा हुआ मरेगा।
14 फिर जब मैं दुष्ट से कहूं, तू निश्चय मरेगा, और वह अपने पाप से फिर कर न्याय और धर्म के काम करने लगे,
15 अर्थात यदि दुष्ट जन बन्धक फेर दे, अपनी लूटी हुई वस्तुएं भर दे, और बिना कुटिल काम किए जीवनदायक विधियों पर चलने लगे, तो वह न मरेगा; वह निश्चय जीवित रहेगा।
16 जितने पाप उसने किए हों, उन में से किसी का स्मरण न किया जाएगा; उसने न्याय और धर्म के काम किए और वह निश्चय जीवित रहेगा।
17 तौभी तुम्हारे लोग कहते हैं, प्रभु की चाल ठीक नहीं; परन्तु उन्हीं की चाल ठीक नहीं है।
18 जब धमीं अपने धर्म से फिर कर कुटिल काम करने लगे, तब निश्चय वह उन में फंसा हुआ मर जाएगा।
19 और जब दुष्ट अपनी दुष्टता से फिर कर न्याय और धर्म के काम करने लगे, तब वह उनके कारण जीवित रहेगा।
20 तौभी तुम कहते हो कि प्रभु की चाल ठीक नहीं? हे इस्राएल के घराने, मैं हर एक व्यक्ति का न्याय उसकी चाल ही के अनुसार करूंगा।
21 फिर हमारी बंधुआई के ग्यारहवें वर्ष के दसवें महीने के पांचवें दिन को, एक व्यक्ति जो यरूशलेम से भाग कर बच गया था, वह मेरे पास आकर कहने लगा, नगर ले लिया गया।
22 उस भागे हुए के आने से पहिले सांझ को यहोवा की शक्ति मुझ पर हुई थी; और भोर तक अर्थात उस मनुष्य के आने तक उसने मेरा मुंह खोल दिया; यों मेरा मुह खुला ही रहा, और मैं फिर गूंगा न रहा।
23 तब यहोवा का यह वचन मेरे पास पहुंचा,
24 हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, इस्राएल की भूमि के उन खण्डहरों के रहने वाले यह कहते हैं, इब्राहीम एक ही मनुष्य था, तौभी देश का अधिकारी हुआ; परन्तु हम लोग बहुत से हैं, इसलिये देश निश्चय हमारे ही अधिकार में दिया गया है।
25 इस कारण तू उन से कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, तुम लोग तो मांस लोहू समेत खाते और अपनी मूरतों की ओर दृष्टि करते, और हत्या करते हो; फिर क्या तुम उस देश के अधिकारी रहने पाओगे?
26 तुम अपनी अपनी तलवार पर भरोसा करते और घिनौने काम करते, और अपने अपने पड़ोसी की स्त्री को अशुद्ध करते हो; फिर क्या तुम उस देश के अधिकारी रहने पाओगे?
27 तू उन से यह कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, मेरे जीवन की सौगन्ध, नि:सन्देह जो लोग खण्डहरों में रहते हैं, वे तलवार से गिरेंगे, और जो खुले मैदान में रहता है, उसे मैं जीवजन्तुओं का आहार कर दूंगा, और जो गढ़ों और गुफाओं में रहते हैं, वे मरी से मरेंगे।
28 और मैं उस देश को उजाड़ ही उजाड़ कर दूंगा; और उसके बल का घमण्ड जाता रहेगा; और इस्राएल के पहाड़ ऐसे उजड़ेंगे कि उन पर हो कर कोई न चलेगा।
29 सो जब मैं उन लोगों के किए हुए सब घिनौने कामों के कारण उस देश को उजाड़ ही उजाड़ कर दूंगा, तब वे जान लेंगे कि मैं यहोवा हूँ।
30 और हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, तेरे लोग भीतों के पास और घरों के द्वारों में तेरे विषय में बातें करते और एक दूसरे से कहते हैं, आओ, सुनो, कि यहोवा की ओर से कौन सा वचन निकलता है।
31 वे प्रजा की नाईं तेरे पास आते और मेरी प्रजा बन कर तेरे साम्हने बैठ कर तेरे वचन सुनते हैं, परन्तु वे उन पर चलते नहीं; मुंह से तो वे बहुत प्रेम दिखाते हैं, परन्तु उनका मन लालच ही में लगा रहता है।
32 और तू उनकी दृष्टि में प्रेम के मधुर गीत गाने वाले और अच्छे बजाने वाले का सा ठहरा है, क्योंकि वे तेरे वचन सुनते तो है, परन्तु उन पर चलते नहीं।
33 सो जब यह बात घटेगी, और वह निश्चय घटेगी! तब वे जान लेंगे कि हमारे बीच एक भविष्यद्वक्ता आया था।
1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
22 Now the hand of the Lord was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
23 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.
31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

1 એલિયા ગિલયાદના તિશ્બેનો હતો, તેણે આહાબને કહ્યું કે, “ઇસ્રાએલના દેવ યહોવા જેની સંમુખ ઊભો રહું છું તેનો હું સેવક છું, અને હું માંરા જીવના સમ ખાઈને કહું છું કે હવેનાં વષોર્માં હું કહું નહિ ત્યાં સુધી ઝાકળ કે વરસાદ પડવાના નથી.”
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2 ત્યારબાદ તેને યહોવા તરફથી આ સંદેશો મળ્યો.
And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
3 “આ જગ્યા છોડીને તું પૂર્વ તરફ જા, યર્દન નદીની બાજુમાં કરીથના વહેળા પાસે સંતાઈ જા.
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4 ઝરણાનું પાણી પીજે, અને મેં કાગડાઓને આજ્ઞા કરી છે કે તે તને ત્યાં ખવડાવે.”
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5 તેણે યહોવાનાં કહ્યાં પ્રમાંણે કર્યુ. તે યર્દન નદીની બાજુમાં આવેલ કરીથના વહેળા પાસે ગયો.
So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6 કાગડાઓ સવાર-સાંજ તેને રોટલી તથા માંસ લાવી આપતા, અને તે ઝરણામાંથી પાણી પીતો.
And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
7 પણ થોડા સમય પછી, નાની નદીનું પાણી સુકાઈ ગયું કેમકે દેશમાં કોઈ સ્થળે વરસાદ વરસ્યો ન હતો.
And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8 પછી યહોવાએ એલિયાને કહ્યું,
And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
9 “તું ઊઠ, અને સિદોન નગરની પાસેના સારફત ગામમાં જઈને રહે, ત્યાં એક વિધવા સ્ત્રી રહે છે, તે તારું પોષણ કરશે, તે માંટે મેં તેને આજ્ઞા આપી છે.”
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 આથી તે સારફત ચાલ્યો ગયો, જયારે તે ગામની ભાગોળે પહોંચ્યો ત્યારે, તેણે એક વિધવા સ્ત્રીને લાકડાં વીણતી જોઈ, તેણે તેનું અભિવાદન કર્યુ અને કહ્યું, “જરા મને કૂંજામાં થોડું પાણી પીવા લાવી આપોને.”
So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 તે પાણી લેવા જતી હતી એટલામાં એલિયાએ તેને બૂમ પાડીને કહ્યું, “માંરે માંટે ટૂકડો રોટલીનો પણ લાવજો.”
And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 પણ તે વિધવા બોલી, “તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાના સમ માંરી બરણીમાં મુઠ્ઠી લોટ અને કૂજામાં થોડું તેલ છે; એ સિવાય માંરી પાસે કશું ખાવાનું નથી. હું અહીં આ થોડા લાકડાં ભેગાં કરવા આવી છું, જેથી જઈને મરતાં પહેલાં માંરે માંટે ને માંરા પુત્રના છેલ્લા ભોજન માંટે કંઈ રાંધી શકું.”
And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 એલિયાએ કહ્યું, “ગભરાઈશ નહિ, જા ને હું કહું છું એ પ્રમાંણે કર. પહેલાં માંરા માંટે એક નાની રોટલી બનાવજે, પછી એક તારા માંટે બનાવ,અને ત્યાર પછી એક તારા પુત્ર માંટે બનાવ.
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 કારણ, ઇસ્રાએલના યહોવા દેવનાં વચન છે કે, ‘યહોવા ભૂમિ પર વરસાદ ન મોકલે, ત્યાં સુધી બરણી માંનો લોટ અને તેલનો કૂંજો કદી ખાલી થશે નહિ.”‘
For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 આથી તેણે જઈને એલિયાના કહેવા મુજબ કર્યુ; અને લાંબા સમય સુધી એલિયાને, તે સ્રીને અને તેના કુટુંબને ખાવાનું મળતું રહ્યું.
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 એલિયા માંરફતે યહોવાએ જે ભવિષ્યવાણી કરી હતી તે સાચી પડી અને તે પ્રમાંણે લોટની બરણી અને તેલનો કૂંજો કદી ખાલી થયા નહિ.
And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
17 ત્યારબાદ તે ઘરવાળી સ્રીનો પુત્ર માંદો પડયો, તેની માંદગી એટલી ભારે હતી કે તેનું મૃત્યુ થયું.
And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18 ત્યારે તેણે એલિયાને કહ્યું, “ઓ યહોવાના માંણસ, તમે શા માંટે આવીને માંરા એ પાપ વિષે યાદ કરાવો છો? જેને લીધે માંરો પુત્ર મરી ગયો હતો?”
And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 એલિયાએ તેને કહ્યું, “તારા પુત્રને માંરી પાસે લાવ.” એમ કહીને એલિયાએ તેના ખોળામાંથી બાળકને લઈ લીધો અને પોતે રહેતો હતો તે માંળ ઉપરની ઓરડીમાં લઈ જઈ તેને પોતાની પથારીમાં નીચે મૂક્યો.
And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20 પછી તેણે યહોવાને પ્રાર્થના કરતાં કહ્યું, “ઓ માંરા યહોવા દેવ, હું જેને ત્યાં ઊતર્યો છું, તે વિધવાને તમાંરે સાચેજ નુકસાન પહોંચાડવું છે? એના પુત્રને તમે શા માંટે માંરી નાખ્યો?”
And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
21 તેણે પોતે બાળક તરફ ખેંચાઇને ત્રણ વખત લાંબા થઈને યહોવાને મોટેથી પ્રાર્થના કરી કે, “ઓ માંરા દેવ, આ બાળકને ફરી જીવતો કરી દે.”
And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
22 યહોવાએ તેનો પોકાર સાંભળ્યો. પેલા બાળકને ફરીથી જીવતો કર્યો.
And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 એલિયાએ તેને ઉપાડી લઈ ઘરના પરના માંળપરની ઓરડીમાંથી તેને તેની માંતા પાસે લઇ આવ્યો. તે બાળકને તેની માંતાને સુપ્રત કરીને તેણે કહ્યું, “જો, તારો પુત્ર તો જીવે છે.”
And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
24 તેથી તે સ્ત્રીએ કહ્યું, “હવે હું ખાતરી પૂર્વક જાણું છું કે તમે દેવના માંણસ છો, અને તમે બોલો છો તે યહોવાનું વચન છે તે સત્ય છે.”
And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.
