1 फिर कितने लोग यहूदिया से आकर भाइयों को सिखाने लगे कि यदि मूसा की रीति पर तुम्हारा खतना न हो तो तुम उद्धार नहीं पा सकते।
2 जब पौलुस और बरनबास का उन से बहुत झगड़ा और वाद-विवाद हुआ तो यह ठहराया गया, कि पौलुस और बरनबास, और हम में से कितने और व्यक्ति इस बात के विषय में यरूशलेम को प्रेरितों और प्राचीनों के पास जांए।
3 सो मण्डली ने उन्हें कुछ दूर तक पहुंचाया; और वे फीनीके ओर सामरिया से होते हुए अन्यजातियों के मन फेरने का समाचार सुनाते गए, और सब भाइयों को बहुत आनन्दित किया।
4 जब यरूशलेम में पहुंचे, तो कलीसिया और प्रेरित और प्राचीन उन से आनन्द के साथ मिले, और उन्होंने बताया कि परमेश्वर ने उन के साथ होकर कैसे कैसे काम किए थे।
5 परन्तु फरीसियों के पंथ में से जिन्हों ने विश्वास किया था, उन में से कितनों ने उठकर कहा, कि उन्हें खतना कराना और मूसा की व्यवस्था को मानने की आज्ञा देना चाहिए।
6 तब प्रेरित और प्राचीन इस बात के विषय में विचार करने के लिये इकट्ठे हुए।
7 तब पतरस ने बहुत वाद-विवाद के बाद खड़े होकर उन से कहा॥ हे भाइयो, तुम जानते हो, कि बहुत दिन हुए, कि परमेश्वर ने तुम में से मुझे चुन लिया, कि मेरे मुंह से अन्यजाति सुसमाचार का वचन सुनकर विश्वास करें।
8 और मन के जांचने वाले परमेश्वर ने उन को भी हमारी नाईं पवित्र आत्मा देकर उन की गवाही दी।
9 और विश्वास के द्वारा उन के मन शुद्ध कर के हम में और उन में कुछ भेद न रखा।
10 तो अब तुम क्यों परमेश्वर की परीक्षा करते हो कि चेलों की गरदन पर ऐसा जूआ रखो, जिसे न हमारे बाप दादे उठा सके थे और न हम उठा सकते।
11 हां, हमारा यह तो निश्चय है, कि जिस रीति से वे प्रभु यीशु के अनुग्रह से उद्धार पाएंगे; उसी रीति से हम भी पाएंगे॥
12 तब सारी सभा चुपचाप होकर बरनबास और पौलुस की सुनने लगी, कि परमेश्वर ने उन के द्वारा अन्यजातियों में कैसे कैसे चिन्ह, और अद्भुत काम दिखाए।
13 जब वे चुप हुए, तो याकूब कहने लगा, कि॥
14 हे भाइयो, मेरी सुनो: शमौन ने बताया, कि परमेश्वर ने पहिले पहिल अन्यजातियों पर कैसी कृपा दृष्टि की, कि उन में से अपने नाम के लिये एक लोग बना ले।
15 और इस से भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की बातें मिलती हैं, जैसा लिखा है, कि।
16 इस के बाद मैं फिर आकर दाऊद का गिरा हुआ डेरा उठाऊंगा, और उसके खंडहरों को फिर बनाऊंगा, और उसे खड़ा करूंगा।
17 इसलिये कि शेष मनुष्य, अर्थात सब अन्यजाति जो मेरे नाम के कहलाते हैं, प्रभु को ढूंढें।
18 यह वही प्रभु कहता है जो जगत की उत्पत्ति से इन बातों का समाचार देता आया है।
19 इसलिये मेरा विचार यह है, कि अन्यजातियों में से जो लोग परमेश्वर की ओर फिरते हैं, हम उन्हें दु:ख न दें।
20 परन्तु उन्हें लिख भेंजें, कि वे मूरतों की अशुद्धताओं और व्यभिचार और गला घोंटे हुओं के मांस से और लोहू से परे रहें।
21 क्योंकि पुराने समय से नगर नगर मूसा की व्यवस्था के प्रचार करने वाले होते चले आए है, और वह हर सब्त के दिन अराधनालय में पढ़ी जाती है।
22 तब सारी कलीसिया सहित प्रेरितों और प्राचीनों को अच्छा लगा, कि अपने में से कई मनुष्यों को चुनें, अर्थात यहूदा, जो बरसब्बा कहलाता है, और सीलास को जो भाइयों में मुखिया थे; और उन्हें पौलुस और बरनबास के साथ अन्ताकिया को भेजें।
23 और उन के हाथ यह लिख भेजा, कि अन्ताकिया और सूरिया और किलिकिया के रहने वाले भाइयों को जो अन्यजातियों में से हैं, प्रेरितों और प्राचीन भाइयों का नमस्कार!
24 हम ने सुना है, कि हम में से कितनों ने वहां जाकर, तुम्हें अपनी बातों से घबरा दिया; और तुम्हारे मन उलट दिए हैं परन्तु हम ने उन को आज्ञा नहीं दी थी।
25 इसलिये हम ने एक चित्त होकर ठीक समझा, कि चुने हुऐ मनुष्यों को अपने प्यारे बरनबास और पौलुस के साथ तुम्हारे पास भेजें।
26 ये तो ऐसे मनुष्य हैं, जिन्हों ने अपने प्राण हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम के लिये जोखिम में डाले हैं।
27 और हम ने यहूदा और सीलास को भेजा है, जो अपने मुंह से भी ये बातें कह देंगे।
28 पवित्र आत्मा को, और हम को ठीक जान पड़ा, कि इन आवश्यक बातों को छोड़; तुम पर और बोझ न डालें;
29 कि तुम मूरतों के बलि किए हुओं से, और लोहू से, और गला घोंटे हुओं के मांस से, और व्यभिचार से, परे रहो। इन से परे रहो; तो तुम्हारा भला होगा आगे शुभ॥
30 फिर वे विदा होकर अन्ताकिया में पहुंचे, और सभा को इकट्ठी करके वह उन्हें पत्री दे दी।
31 और वे पढ़कर उस उपदेश की बात से अति आनन्दित हुए।
32 और यहूदा और सीलास ने जो आप भी भविष्यद्वक्ता थे, बहुत बातों से भाइयों को उपदेश देकर स्थिर किया।
33 वे कुछ दिन रहकर भाइयों से शान्ति के साथ विदा हुए, कि अपने भेजने वालों के पास जाएं।
34 (परन्तु सीलास को वहां रहना अच्छा लगा।)
35 और पौलुस और बरनबास अन्ताकिया में रह गए: और बहुत और लोगों के साथ प्रभु के वचन का उपदेश करते और सुसमाचार सुनाते रहे॥
36 कुछ दिन बाद पौलुस ने बरनबास से कहा; कि जिन जिन नगरों में हम ने प्रभु का वचन सुनाया था, आओ, फिर उन में चलकर अपने भाइयों को देखें; कि कैसे हैं।
37 तब बरनबास ने यूहन्ना को जो मरकुस कहलाता है, साथ लेने का विचार किया।
38 परन्तु पौलुस ने उसे जो पंफूलिया में उन से अलग हो गया था, और काम पर उन के साथ न गया, साथ ले जाना अच्छा न समझा।
39 सो ऐसा टंटा हुआ, कि वे एक दूसरे से अलग हो गए: और बरनबास, मरकुस को लेकर जहाज पर कुप्रुस को चला गया।
40 परन्तु पौलुस ने सीलास को चुन लिया, और भाइयों से परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह पर सौंपा जाकर वहां से चला गया।
41 और कलीसियाओं को स्थिर करता हुआ, सूरिया और किलिकिया से होते हुआ निकला॥
1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
Acts 20 in Tamil and English
1 जब हुल्लड़ थम गया, तो पौलुस ने चेलों को बुलवाकर समझाया, और उन से विदा होकर मकिदुनिया की और चल दिया।
And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.
2 और उस सारे देश में से होकर और उन्हें बहुत समझाकर, वह यूनान में आया।
And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,
3 जब तीन महीने रह कर जहाज पर सूरिया की ओर जाने पर था, तो यहूदी उस की घात में लगे, इसलिये उस ने यह सलाह की कि मकिदुनिया होकर लोट आए।
And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
4 बिरीया के र्पुरूस का पुत्र सोपत्रुस और थिस्सलूनीकियों में से अरिस्तर्खुस और सिकुन्दुस और दिरबे का गयुस, तिमुथियुस, और आसिया का तुखिकुस और त्रुफिमुस आसिया तक उसके साथ हो लिए।
And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.
5 वे आगे जाकर त्रोआस में हमारी बाट जोहते रहे।
These going before tarried for us at Troas.
6 और हम अखमीरी रोटी के दिनों के बाद फिलिप्पी से जहाज पर चढ़कर पांच दिन में त्रोआस में उन के पास पहुंचे, और सात दिन तक वहीं रहे॥
And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.
7 सप्ताह के पहिले दिन जब हम रोटी तोड़ने के लिये इकट्ठे हुए, तो पौलुस ने जो दूसरे दिन चले जाने पर था, उन से बातें की, और आधी रात तक बातें करता रहा।
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8 जिस अटारी पर हम इकट्ठे थे, उस में बहुत दीये जल रहे थे।
And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
9 और यूतुखुस नाम का एक जवान खिड़की पर बैठा हुआ गहरी नींद से झुक रहा था, और जब पौलुस देर तक बातें करता रहा तो वह नींद के झोंके में तीसरी अटारी पर से गिर पड़ा, और मरा हुआ उठाया गया।
And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10 परन्तु पौलुस उतरकर उस से लिपट गया, और गले लगाकर कहा; घबराओ नहीं; क्योंकि उसका प्राण उसी में है।
And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11 और ऊपर जाकर रोटी तोड़ी और खाकर इतनी देर तक उन से बातें करता रहा, कि पौ फट गई; फिर वह चला गया।
When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12 और वे उस लड़के को जीवित ले आए, और बहुत शान्ति पाई॥
And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
13 हम पहिले से जहाज पर चढ़कर अस्सुस को इस विचार से आगे गए, कि वहां से हम पौलुस को चढ़ा लें क्योंकि उस ने यह इसलिये ठहराया था, कि आप ही पैदल जाने वाला था।
And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.
14 जब वह अस्सुस में हमें मिला तो हम उसे चढ़ाकर मितुलेने में आए।
And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.
15 और वहां से जहाज खोलकर हम दूसरे दिन खियुस के साम्हने पहुंचे, और अगले दिन सामुस में लगान किया, फिर दूसरे दिन मीलेतुस में आए।
And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
16 क्योंकि पौलुस ने इफिसुस के पास से होकर जाने की ठानी थी, कि कहीं ऐसा न हो, कि उसे आसिया में देर लगे; क्योंकि वह जल्दी करता था, कि यदि हो सके, तो उसे पिन्तेकुस का दिन यरूशलेम में कटे॥
For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
17 और उस ने मीलेतुस से इफिसुस में कहला भेजा, और कलीसिया के प्राचीनों को बुलवाया।
And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
18 जब वे उस के पास आए, तो उन से कहा, तुम जानते हो, कि पहिले ही दिन से जब मैं आसिया में पहुंचा, मैं हर समय तुम्हारे साथ किस प्रकार रहा।
And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
19 अर्थात बड़ी दीनता से, और आंसू बहा बहाकर, और उन परीक्षाओं में जो यहूदियों के षडयन्त्र के कारण मुझ पर आ पड़ी; मैं प्रभु की सेवा करता ही रहा।
Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
20 और जो जो बातें तुम्हारे लाभ की थीं, उन को बताने और लोगों के साम्हने और घर घर सिखाने से कभी न झिझका।
And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
21 वरन यहूदियों और यूनानियों के साम्हने गवाही देता रहा, कि परमेश्वर की ओर मन फिराना, और हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करना चाहिए।
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
22 और अब देखो, मैं आत्मा में बन्धा हुआ यरूशलेम को जाता हूं, और नहीं जानता, कि वहां मुझ पर क्या क्या बीतेगा
And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23 केवल यह कि पवित्र आत्मा हर नगर में गवाही दे देकर मुझ से कहता है, कि बन्धन और क्लेश तेरे लिये तैयार हैं।
Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
24 परन्तु मैं अपने प्राण को कुछ नहीं समझता: कि उसे प्रिय जानूं, वरन यह कि मैं अपनी दौड़ को, और उस सेवाकाई को पूरी करूं, जो मैं ने परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के सुसमाचार पर गवाही देने के लिये प्रभु यीशु से पाई है।
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
25 और अब देखो, मैं जानता हूं, कि तुम सब जिनमें मैं परमेश्वर के राज्य का प्रचार करता फिरा, मेरा मुंह फिर न देखोगे।
And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
26 इसलिये मैं आज के दिन तुम से गवाही देकर कहता हूं, कि मैं सब के लोहू से निर्दोष हूं।
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
27 क्योंकि मैं परमेश्वर की सारी मनसा को तुम्हें पूरी रीति से बनाने से न झिझका।
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
28 इसलिये अपनी और पूरे झुंड की चौकसी करो; जिस से पवित्र आत्मा ने तुम्हें अध्यक्ष ठहराया है; कि तुम परमेश्वर की कलीसिया की रखवाली करो, जिसे उस ने अपने लोहू से मोल लिया है।
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 मैं जानता हूं, कि मेरे जाने के बाद फाड़ने वाले भेड़िए तुम में आएंगे, जो झुंड को न छोड़ेंगे।
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 तुम्हारे ही बीच में से भी ऐसे ऐसे मनुष्य उठेंगे, जो चेलों को अपने पीछे खींच लेने को टेढ़ी मेढ़ी बातें कहेंगे।
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 इसलिये जागते रहो; और स्मरण करो; कि मैं ने तीन वर्ष तक रात दिन आंसू बहा बहा कर, हर एक को चितौनी देना न छोड़ा।
Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32 और अब मैं तुम्हें परमेश्वर को, और उसके अनुग्रह के वचन को सौंप देता हूं; जो तुम्हारी उन्नति कर सकता है, और सब पवित्रों में साझी करके मीरास दे सकता है।
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
33 मैं ने किसी की चान्दी सोने या कपड़े का लालच नहीं किया।
I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 तुम आप ही जानते हो कि इन्हीं हाथों ने मेरी और मेरे साथियों की आवश्यकताएं पूरी कीं।
Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 मैं ने तुम्हें सब कुछ करके दिखाया, कि इस रीति से परिश्रम करते हुए निर्बलों को सम्भालना, और प्रभु यीशु की बातें स्मरण रखना अवश्य है, कि उस ने आप ही कहा है; कि लेने से देना धन्य है॥
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36 यह कहकर उस ने घुटने टेके और उन सब के साथ प्रार्थना की।
And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
37 तब वे सब बहुत रोए और पौलुस के गले में लिपट कर उसे चूमने लगे।
And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38 वे विशेष करके इस बात का शोक करते थे, जो उस ने कही थी, कि तुम मेरा मुंह फिर न देखोगे; और उन्होंने उसे जहाज तक पहुंचाया॥
Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
