Deuteronomy 22
1 तू अपने भाई के गाय-बैल वा भेड़-बकरी को भटकी हुई देखकर अनदेखी न करना, उसको अवश्य उसके पास पहुंचा देना।
2 परन्तु यदि तेरा वह भाई निकट न रहता हो, वा तू उसे न जानता हो, तो उस पशु को अपने घर के भीतर ले आना, और जब तक तेरा वह भाई उसको न ढूंढ़े तब तक वह तेरे पास रहे; और जब वह उसे ढूंढ़े तब उसको दे देना।
3 और उसके गदहे वा वस्त्र के विषय, वरन उसकी कोई वस्तु क्यों न हो, जो उस से खो गई हो और तुझ को मिले, उसके विषय में भी ऐसा ही करना; तू देखी-अनदेखी न करना॥
4 तू अपने भाई के गदहे वा बैल को मार्ग पर गिरा हुआ देखकर अनदेखी न करना; उसके उठाने में अवश्य उसकी सहायता करना॥
5 कोई स्त्री पुरूष का पहिरावा न पहिने, और न कोई पुरूष स्त्री का पहिरावा पहिने; क्योंकि ऐसे कामों के सब करने वाले तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा की दृष्टि में घृणित हैं॥
6 यदि वृक्ष वा भूमि पर तेरे साम्हने मार्ग में किसी चिडिय़ा का घोंसला मिले, चाहे उस में बच्चे हों चाहे अण्डे, और उन बच्चों वा अण्डों पर उनकी मां बैठी हुई हो, तो बच्चों समेत मां को न लेना;
7 बच्चों को अपने लिये ले तो ले, परन्तु मां को अवश्य छोड़ देना; इसलिये कि तेरा भला हो, और तेरी आयु के दिन बहुत हों॥
8 जब तू नया घर बनाए तब उसकी छत पर आड़ के लिये मुण्डेर बनाना, ऐसा न हो कि कोई छत पर से गिर पड़े, और तू अपने घराने पर खून का दोष लगाए।
9 अपनी दाख की बारी में दो प्रकार के बीज न बोना, ऐसा न हो कि उसकी सारी उपज, अर्थात तेरा बोया हुआ बीज और दाख की बारी की उपज दोनों अपवित्र ठहरें।
10 बैल और गदहा दोनों संग जोतकर हल न चलाना।
11 ऊन और सनी की मिलावट से बना हुआ वस्त्र न पहिनना॥
12 अपने ओढ़ने के चारों ओर की कोर पर झालर लगाया करना॥
13 यदि कोई पुरूष किसी स्त्री को ब्याहे, और उसके पास जाने के समय वह उसको अप्रिय लगे,
14 और वह उस स्त्री की नामधराई करे, और यह कहकर उस पर कुकर्म का दोष लगाए, कि इस स्त्री को मैं ने ब्याहा, और जब उस से संगति की तब उस में कुंवारी अवस्था के लझण न पाए,
15 तो उस कन्या के माता-पिता उसके कुंवारीपन के चिन्ह ले कर नगर के वृद्ध लोगों के पास फाटक के बाहर जाएं;
16 और उस कन्या का पिता वृद्ध लोगों से कहे, मैं ने अपनी बेटी इस पुरूष को ब्याह दी, और वह उसको अप्रिय लगती है;
17 और वह तो यह कहकर उस पर कुकर्म का दोष लगाता है, कि मैं ने तेरी बेटी में कुंवारीपन के लझण नहीं पाए। परन्तु मेरी बेटी के कुंवारीपन के चिन्ह ये हैं। तब उसके माता-पिता नगर के वृद्ध लोगों के साम्हने उस चद्दर को फैलाएं।
18 तब नगर के सियाने लोग उस पुरूष को पकड़ कर ताड़ना दें;
19 और उस पर सौ शेकेल रूपे का दण्ड भी लगा कर उस कन्या के पिता को दें, इसलिये कि उसने एक इस्राएली कन्या की नामधराई की है; और वह उसी की पत्नी बनी रहे, और वह जीवन भर उस स्त्री को त्यागने न पाए।
20 परन्तु यदि उस कन्या के कुंवारीपन के चिन्ह पाए न जाएं, और उस पुरूष की बात सच ठहरे,
21 तो वे उस कन्या को उसके पिता के घर के द्वार पर ले जाएं, और उस नगर के पुरूष उसको पत्थरवाह करके मार डालें; उसने तो अपने पिता के घर में वेश्या का काम करके बुराई की है; यों तू अपने मध्य में से ऐसी बुराई को दूर करना॥
22 यदि कोई पुरूष दूसरे पुरूष की ब्याही हुई स्त्री के संग सोता हुआ पकड़ा जाए, तो जो पुरूष उस स्त्री के संग सोया हो वह और वह स्त्री दोनों मार डालें जाएं; इस प्रकार तू ऐसी बुराई को इस्राएल में से दूर करना॥
23 यदि किसी कुंवारी कन्या के ब्याह की बात लगी हो, और कोई दूसरा पुरूष उसे नगर में पाकर उस से कुकर्म करे,
24 तो तुम उन दोनों को उस नगर के फाटक के बाहर ले जा कर उन को पत्थरवाह करके मार डालना, उस कन्या को तो इसलिये कि वह नगर में रहते हुए भी नहीं चिल्लाई, और उस पुरूष को इस कारण कि उसने पड़ोसी की स्त्री की पत-पानी ली है; इस प्रकार तू अपने मध्य में से ऐसी बुराई को दूर करना॥
25 परन्तु यदि कोई पुरूष किसी कन्या को जिसके ब्याह की बात लगी हो मैदान में पाकर बरबस उस से कुकर्म करे, तो केवल वह पुरूष मार डाला जाए, जिसने उस से कुकर्म किया हो।
26 और उस कन्या से कुछ न करना; उस कन्या का पाप प्राणदण्ड के योग्य नहीं, क्योंकि जैसे कोई अपने पड़ोसी पर चढ़ाई करके उसे मार डाले, वैसी ही यह बात भी ठहरेगी;
27 कि उस पुरूष ने उस कन्या को मैदान में पाया, और वह चिल्लाई तो सही, परन्तु उसको कोई बचाने वाला न मिला।
28 यदि किसी पुरूष को कोई कुंवारी कन्या मिले जिसके ब्याह की बात न लगी हो, और वह उसे पकड़ कर उसके साथ कुकर्म करे, और वे पकड़े जाएं,
29 तो जिस पुरूष ने उस से कुकर्म किया हो वह उस कन्या के पिता को पचास शेकेल रूपा दे, और वह उसी की पत्नी हो, उसने उस की पत-पानी ली; इस कारण वह जीवन भर उसे न त्यागने पाए॥
30 कोई अपनी सौतेली माता को अपनी स्त्री न बनाए, वह अपने पिता का ओढ़ना न उघाड़े॥
1 Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.
2 And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.
3 In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother’s, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.
4 Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.
5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
6 If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:
7 But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
8 When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.
10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.
11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.
13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel’s virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:
16 And the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;
17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
30 A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor discover his father’s skirt.
Isaiah 42 in Tamil and English
1 “আমি আমার দাসের দিকে তাকাই! আমি তাকে সমর্থন করি| সে হচ্ছে সেই জন, যাকে আমি বেছে নিয়েছিলাম| আমি তাকে নিয়ে সন্তুষ্ট| তার ওপর আমি আমার আত্মা রেখেছি| সে ন্যায়সঙ্গত ভাবে জাতিসমূহের বিচার করবে|
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 পথে-ঘাটে সে চিত্কার করবে না| সে তীব্র চিত্কার করবে না অথবা তার গলা লোকদের মধ্যে শোনা যাবে এমন করবে না|
He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 সে ভদ্র হবে| জলাশযের ধারে গজিযে ওঠা আগাছা সে কখনও ভাঙবে না| দুর্বল আগুনকেও সে কখনও নিভিযে দেবে না| সে ন্যায় ভাবে বিচার করবে এবং সত্যকে বের করবে|
A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 পৃথিবীতে ন্যায় বিচার না আনা পর্য়ন্ত সে দুর্বল হবে না, অথবা নিষ্পেষিত হবে না| দূরবর্তী স্থানের লোকরা তার শিক্ষামালায় আস্থাবান হবে|”
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5 প্রভু প্রকৃত ঈশ্বর, তিনিই এই সব বলেছেন| প্রভু আকাশ বানিয়েছেন| তিনি আকাশকে সারা বিশ্বের ওপর ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন| তিনি পৃথিবীর সব কিছুর সৃষ্টিকর্তা| তিনি পৃথিবীর প্রতিটি মানুষকে শ্বাস-প্রশ্বাস দিয়ে বাঁচিয়ে রেখেছেন| পৃথিবীর ওপর যারা হেঁটে বেড়ায তাদের প্রত্যেক লোককে তিনি একটি আত্মা দেন|
Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 “আমি তোমাদের প্রভু, সঠিক কাজ করতে তোমাদের ডেকেছিলাম| আমি তোমাদের হাত ধরেছি| আমি তোমাদের রক্ষা করেছি এবং তোমাদের মাধ্যমে আমি লোকদের সঙ্গে একটি চুক্তি করেছি| তুমি সমস্ত জাতিগুলির জন্য একটি আলোস্বরূপ হবে|
I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 তুমি অন্ধ লোকের চোখ খুলে দেবে এবং তারা সব কিছু দেখতে পাবে| বহুলোক কয়েদখানায বন্দী; তুমি তাদের মুক্ত করে দেবে| বহুলোক বাস করে অন্ধকারে, জেলের থেকে বাইরে আসবার জন্য তাদের তুমি নেতৃত্ব দেবে|
To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 “আমিই প্রভু| আমার নাম য়িহোবা| আমার মহিমা আমি অপরকে দেব না| যে মহিমা আমার পাওয়া উচিত্ সেই প্রশংসা মূর্ত্তিদের আমি নিতে দেব না|
I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9 শুরুতেই আমি বলেছিলাম, কিছু একটা ঘটবে| এবং ঐসব জিনিস ঘটেছিল| এবং এখন অন্য কিছু ঘটার আগেই, তোমাদের আমি ভবিষ্যতে কি ঘটবে সে সম্বন্ধে জানাব|”
Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 প্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে গাও নতুন গান| তোমরা দূর দেশের লোকরা, তোমরা দূর দেশের নাবিকরা, তোমরা সমুদ্রের প্রাণীরা, তোমরা দূরবর্তী জায়গার লোকরা প্রভুর প্রশংসা কর!
Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 মরুভূমি ও শহর, পূর্ব ইস্রায়েলের কেদরের গ্রামগুলি প্রভুর প্রশংসা কর| শেলাবাসীরা আনন্দগীত গাও! পর্বতশৃঙ্গ থেকে তোমরা গেযে ওঠ|
Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 তারা প্রভুকে মহিমাম্বিত করুক| দূর দেশের লোকরা প্রভুর প্রশংসা করুক|
Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.
13 প্রভু বলবান সৈন্যের মত চলে যাবেন! তিনি হবেন যুদ্ধ করতে প্রস্তুত মানুষের মত| তিনি প্রচণ্ড উত্তেজিত হয়ে উঠবেন| তিনি কাঁদবেন, উচ্চস্বরে চিত্কার করবেন এবং তার শএুদের পরাজিত করবেন|
The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
14 “দীর্ঘদিন ধরে আমি কিছুই বলিনি| আমি নিজেকে সংযত করে রেখেছিলাম, বলিনি কোন কিছুই| কিন্তু এখন আমি প্রসব করতে যাচ্ছে এমন এক মহিলার মতো চিত্কার করে কাঁদব| আমি জোরে জোরে সশব্দে প্রশ্বাস নেব|
I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 আমি পাহাড়-পর্বত ধ্বংস করব| আমি সেখানে জন্মানো সমস্ত গাছপালাকে শুকিয়ে দেব| আমি নদীকে পরিণত করব শুকনো জমিতে| আমি জলাশযকে শুকিয়ে দেব|
I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
16 তারপর আমি অন্ধদের নেতৃত্ব দেব এক অজানা পথে যে সব স্থানে তারা কখনও যায়নি| অন্ধদের নিয়ে যাব সেই সব স্থানে| তাদের জন্য অন্ধকারকে আলোময় করে দেব| রুক্ষ জমিকে মসৃণ করে তুলব| আমি যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলাম তা সবই করব এবং আমার লোকদের ছেড়ে যাব না!
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
17 কিন্তু কেউ কেউ আমাকে মেনে চলা বন্ধ করেছে| ঐসব লোকদের সোনায বাঁধানো মূর্ত্তি আছে| তারা ঐসব মূর্ত্তিদের বলে, ‘তোমরাই আমাদের দেবতা|’ যে লোকরা তাদের মূর্ত্তিগুলিতে আস্থা রাখে, তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেবে এবং লজ্জা পাবে|
They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
18 “তোমরা, বধির লোকরা আমার কথা তোমাদের শোনা উচিত্| অন্ধ লোকরা, তোমাদের আমাকে দেখা এবং আমার দিকে তাকানো উচিত্|”
Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
19 সারা পৃথিবীতে আমার সেবক (ইস্রায়েলের লোকজন) সব চেয়ে অন্ধ| যে বার্তাবাহককে আমি পৃথিবীতে পাঠিয়েছি সেই সবচেয়ে বধির| যে লোকটির সঙ্গে আমি বন্দোবস্ত করেছিলাম, প্রভুর দাস সে-ই সবচেয়ে বেশী অন্ধ|
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant?
20 আমার দাস অনেক মহান জিনিষ দেখেছে, কিন্তু সে সেসবের প্রতি মনোযোগ দেয় না| সে কানে শুনতে পায় কিন্তু সে মানতে চায় না|”
Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
21 প্রভু চান তাঁর সেবকরা ভাল হোক| প্রভু চান তাঁর আশ্চর্য়্য়জনক শিক্ষামালাকে তারা শ্রদ্ধা করুক|
The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
22 কিন্তু লোকগুলিকে দেখো| অন্য লোকরা তাদের পরাজিত করেছে| এবং তাদের জিনিস চুরি করে নিয়েছে| প্রতিটি যুবক ভীত| তারা জেলে বন্দী| লোকরা তাদের সব টাকা ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছে| তাদের রক্ষা করার কেউ নেই| অন্যরা তাদের টাকা নিয়ে নিয়েছে| এই টাকা ফিরিয়ে দিয়ে যাও| একথা বলার মতোও কেউ নেই|”
But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
23 তোমাদের কেউ কি ঈশ্বরের বাক্য শুনেছিলে? না! কিন্তু তোমাদের উচিত্ কাছ থেকে তাঁর কথা শোনা, এবং যা ঘটেছে সে সম্পর্কে মনোযোগ দেওয়া|
Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
24 যাকোব ও ইস্রায়েল থেকে লোকদের ধনসম্পদ নিতে কে দিয়েছিল? প্রভুই তাদের এসব কাজ করার অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন| আমরা প্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ কাজ করেছিলাম| তাই প্রভু আমাদের ধনসম্পদ নিয়ে নিতে লোকদের অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন| ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা প্রভুর বিধির প্রতি মনোযোগ দেয় নি| প্রভু যে ভাবে চেয়ে ছিলেন সে ভাবে ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা জীবনযাপন করেনি|
Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
25 তাই প্রভু তাদের ওপর রুদ্ধ হন| তিনি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে শক্তিশালী যুদ্ধ ঘটিযেছিলেন| এমন হয়েছিল ঠিক যেন ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা আগুন দিয়ে ঘেরা ছিল| কিন্তু তারা কি ঘটছিল তা জানত না| ঘটনাটা ছিল তাদের পুড়ে যাওয়ার মতোই| কিন্তু যা ঘটছিল তারা তা বোঝার চেষ্টা করেনি|
Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
