2 Kings 3
1 यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात के अठारहवें वर्ष में अहाब का पुत्र यहोराम शिमरोन में राज्य करने लगा, और बारह पर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा।
2 उसने वह किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा है तौभी उसने अपने माता-पिता के बराबर नहीं किया वरन अपने पिता की बनवाई हुई बाल की लाठ को दूर किया।
3 तौभी वह नबात के पुत्र यारोबाम के ऐसे पापों में जैसे उसने इस्राएल से भी कराए लिपटा रहा और उन से न फिरा।
4 मोआब का राजा मेशा बहुत सी भेड़-बकरियां रखता था, और इस्राएल के राजा को एक लाख बच्चे और एक लाख मेढ़ों का ऊन कर की रीति से दिया करता था।
5 जब अहाब मर गया, तब मोआब के राजा ने इस्राएल के राजा से बलवा किया।
6 उस समय राजा यहोराम ने शोमरोन से निकल कर सारे इस्राएल की गिनती ली।
7 और उसने जा कर यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात के पास यों कहला भेजा, कि मोआब के राजा ने मुझ से बलवा किया है, क्या तू मेरे संग मोआब से लड़ने को चलेगा? उसने कहा, हां मैं चलूंगा, जैसा तू वैसा मैं, जैसी तेरी प्रजा वैसी मेरी प्रजा, और जैसे तेरे घोड़े वैसे मेरे भी घोड़े हैं।
8 फिर उसने पूछा, हम किस मार्ग से जाएं? उसने उत्तर दिया, एदोम के जंगल से होकर।
9 तब इस्राएल का राजा, और यहूदा का राजा, और एदोम का राजा चले और जब सात दिन तक घूमकर चल चुके, तब सेना और उसके पीछे पीछे चलने वाले पशुओं के लिये कुछ पानी न मिला।
10 और इस्राएल के राजा ने कहा, हाय! यहोवा ने इन तीन राजाओं को इसलिये इकट्ठा किया, कि उन को मोआब के हाथ में कर दे।
11 परन्तु यहोशापात ने कहा, क्या यहां यहोवा का कोई नबी नहीं है, जिसके द्वारा हम यहोवा से पूछें? इस्राएल के राजा के किसी कर्मचारी ने उत्तर देकर कहा, हां, शापात का पुत्र एलीशा जो एलिय्याह के हाथों को धुलाया करता था वह तो यहां है।
12 तब यहोशापात ने कहा, उसके पास यहोवा का वचन पहुंचा करता है। तब इस्राएल का राजा और यहोशापात और एदोम का राजा उसके पास गए।
13 तब एलीशा ने इस्राएल के राजा से कहा, मेरा तुझ से क्या काम है? अपने पिता के भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और अपनी माता के नबियों के पास जा। इस्राएल के राजा ने उस से कहा, ऐसा न कह, क्योंकि यहोवा ने इन तीनों राजाओं को इसलिये इकट्ठा किया, कि इन को मोआब के हाथ में कर दे।
14 एलीशा ने कहा, सेनाओं का यहोवा जिसके सम्मुख मैं उपस्थित रहा करता हूँ, उसके जीवन की शपथ यदि मैं यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात का आदर मान न करता, तो मैं न तो तेरी ओर मुंह करता और न तुझ पर दृष्टि करता।
15 अब कोई बजवैय्या मेरे पास ले आओ। जब बजवैय्या बजाने लगा, तब यहोवा की शक्ति एलीशा पर हुई।
16 और उसने कहा, इस नाले में तुम लोग इतना खोदो, कि इस में गड़हे ही गड़हे हो जाएं।
17 क्योंकि यहोवा यों कहता है, कि तुम्हारे साम्हने न तो वायु चलेगी, और न वर्षा होगी; तौभी यह नाला पानी से भर जाएगा; और अपने गाय बैलों और पशुओं समेत तुम पीने पाओगे।
18 और इस को हलकी सी बात जान कर यहोवा मोआब को भी तुम्हारे हाथ में कर देगा।
19 तब तुम सब गढ़ वाले और उत्तम नगरों को नाश करना, और सब अच्छे वृक्षों को काट डालना, और जल के सब खेतों को भर देना, और सब अच्छे खेतों में पत्थर फेंक कर उन्हें बिगाड़ देना।
20 विहान को अन्नबलि चढ़ाने के समय एदोम की ओर से जल बह आया, और देश जल से भर गया।
21 यह सुन कर कि राजाओं ने हम से युद्ध करने के लिये चढ़ाई की है, जितने मोआबियों की अवस्था हथियार बान्धने योग्य थी, वे सब बुला कर इकट्ठे किए गए, और सिवाने पर खड़े हुए।
22 बिहान को जब वे उठे उस समय सूर्य की किरणों उस जल पर ऐसी पड़ीं कि वह मोआबियों की परली ओर से लोहू सा लाल दिखाई पड़ा।
23 तो वे कहने लगे वह तो लोहू होगा, नि:सन्देह वे राजा एक दूसरे को मार कर नाश हो गए हैं, इसलिये अब हे मोआबियो लूट लेने को जाओ;
24 और जब वे इस्राएल की छावनी के पास आए ही थे, कि इस्राएली उठ कर मोआबियों को मारने लगे और वे उनके साम्हने से भाग गए; और वे मोआब को मारते मारते उनके देश में पहुंच गए।
25 और उन्होंने नगरों को ढा दिया, और सब अच्छे खेतों में एक एक पुरुष ने अपना अपना पत्थर डाल कर उन्हें भर दिया; और जल के सब सोतों को भर दिया; और सब अच्छे अच्छे वृक्षों को काट डाला, यहां तक कि कीर्हरेशेत के पत्थर तो रह गए, परन्तु उसको भी चारों ओर गोफन चलाने वालों ने जा कर मारा।
26 यह देखकर कि हम युद्ध में हार चले, मोआब के राजा ने सात सौ तलवार रखने वाले पुरुष संग ले कर एदोम के राजा तक पांति चीर कर पहुंचने का यत्न किया परन्तु पहुंच न सका।
27 तब उसने अपने जेठे पुत्र को जो उसके स्थान में राज्य करनेवाला था पकड़ कर शहरपनाह पर होमबलि चढ़ाया। इस कारण इस्राएल पर बड़ा ही क्रोध हुआ, सो वे उसे छोड़ कर अपने देश को लौट गए।
1 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.
2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.
9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days’ journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.
12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
14 And Elisha said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
16 And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches.
17 For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
19 And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.
20 And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
22 And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
23 And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.
24 And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.
25 And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.
26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.
27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

1 दाज्यू-भाइ, दिदी-बहिनीहरू तिमीहरू सबैले मोशाको व्यवस्था बुझ्दछौ। यसकारण निःसन्देह, तिमीहरू जान्दछौ कि व्यवस्थाले कुनै पनि मानिसलाई उ बाँचुञ्जेल मात्र आफ्नो अधीनमा राख्दछ।
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 म तिमीहरूलाई एउटा उदाहरण दिदँछुः एकजना पत्नी मानिस आफ्नो लोग्ने बाँचुञ्जेल सम्म उसँगै बस्नु पर्दछ। तर यदि उसको लोग्ने मर्यो भने उ विवाहको निम्ति विवाह विधानबाट मुक्त हुन्छ।
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 तर यदि त्यस पत्नी मानिसले आफ्नो लोग्ने छँदाछँदै अर्को पुरुषसँग विवाह गरी भने त्यसलाई व्यभिचारिणी भनिन्छ। तर यदि उसको लोग्ने चाँहि मर्यो भने उ विवाहको विधानबाट मुक्त बन्छे अनि यदि आफ्नो लोग्ने मरे पछि उसले अर्को पुरुषसँग विवाह गरी भने, उसलाई व्यभिचारिणीको दोष लाग्दैन।
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4 त्यस्तै प्रकारले, मेरा दाज्यु-भाइ, दिदी-बहिनीहरू, तिम्रा पूराना स्वभावहरू मरिसकेकाछन् र तिमीहरू पनि ख्रीष्टका शरीरद्वारा व्यस्थाबाट मुक्त बन्यौ। अब तिमीहरू कसैको भयौ। तिमीहरू ख्रीष्टको भयौ जो मृत्युबाट जगाइनु भयो। हामी ख्रीष्टका छौं र हामी परमेश्वरको सेवामा हुनसक्छौं।
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 विगतमा हामी हाम्रा पापपूर्ण स्वभावले शासित थियौं। व्यवस्थाले हामीमा पापपूर्ण कार्यहरू गर्न इच्छा जगायो जसले हाम्रो शरीर अधीनमा राख्यो। यसकारण जुन कुराहरू हामीले गर्यौ त्यसले हाम्रो आत्मिक मृत्यु भयो।
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6 विगतमा, व्यवस्थाले हामीलाई कैदी बनायो । तर हाम्रा पुराना स्वभावहरू मरेर गए अनि हामी व्यवस्थावाट मुक्त गरियौं। यसैले अब हामी परमेश्वरलाई आत्माको नयाँ ढाँचाले सेवा गर्दछौं, नियमहरूमा लेखिएको पुरानो ढाँचाले होइन। अब, हामी परमेश्वरलाई आत्माद्वारा नयाँ ढाँचाले पुज्दछौं।
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7 हामीले के भन्नु पर्ने हो? के व्यवस्था पापको समान हो? होइन, तर व्यवस्था त एक मात्र त्यस्तो बाटो हो जहाँबाट मैले पाप भनेको के हो बूझ्न सकें। यदि व्यवस्थाले पाप भनेको के हो भन्ने नबताएको भए मैले कहिल्यै बुझ्न सक्ने थिएन। तर व्यवस्थाले भन्यो, “अरूसँग भएको कुराहरूको चाहना तिमीले गर्नु दैन।”
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 तर पापले त्यस आज्ञाबाट अवसर पायो र ममा धेरै प्रकारको इच्छा जागृत गरायो किन कि पाप व्यवस्था बिनै मृत बन्यो।
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 एक समय म व्यवस्था बिना नै जीवित थिएँ। तर जब आज्ञ आयो, पापले जीवन पायो।
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 यसकारण पापको कारणले गर्दा म आत्मिक रूपले मरे। आज्ञाको अर्थ थियो जीवन ल्याउनु तर मेरो लागि त्यसले मृत्यु ल्यायो।
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 व्यवस्था पालन गरेर पापले मलाई मूर्ख बनाउने ठाउँ पायो। व्यवस्था पालन गरेर पापले मलाई आत्मिक रूपले मार्यो।
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12 तब त्यसैले व्यवस्था नै पवित्र हो, अनि आज्ञा पनि पवित्र, धार्मिक र राम्रो हो।
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 ममा मृत्यु ल्याउने कुरो राम्रो भनेको हो?होइन! तर पापले त्यो राम्रो भन्ने कुरो प्रयोग गरेर ममा मृत्यु ल्यायो। त्यसो भएकोले गर्दा खासमा कुरो खुबै नराम्रो हो भन्ने देखाइयो। अनि यही आज्ञा देखाउनलाई प्रयोग गरियो।
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14 हामी जान्दछौ कि व्यवस्था आत्मिक हो। तर म आत्मिक छैन। पापले ममाथि शासन गर्छ, मानौं म त्यसको दास हुँ।
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 म केही जाँन्दिन म के गरिरहेछु। किनकि म केही जान्दिँन म के गर्न चाहन्छु। यसको सट्टामा म त्यही गर्छु जुन कुरो म गर्न घृणा गर्छु।
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 यदि मैले नचाहेको काम गरे भने म व्यवस्था राम्रो छ भनेर मान्छु।
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 तर म एकमात्र होइन जसले यस्तो खराब काम गरिरहेछ। पाप जुन मभित्र बसेकोछु, त्यसैले यस्तो कामहरू गर्दैछ।
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 हो, म जान्दछु कि राम्रो भन्ने केही कुरो ममा छैन, म असल कुरा गर्न चाहन्छु तर गर्न असमर्थ छु।
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 आफूले चाहेको असल कुरा पनि म र्गदिनँ। त्यसको बदली गर्न नचाहेको नराम्रो कुरा चाहिं म गर्छु।
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 यदि आफूले नचाहेको कुरो म गर्छु भने ती कुराहरू गर्ने म होइनन। मभित्र रहेको पापले नै ती सब गर्दछ।
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 त्यसैले मैले आफैमा एउटा विधान भेटें जब म असल गर्न चाहन्छु मभित्र संधैं दुष्ट रहन्छ।
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 भित्रीरूपले म परमेश्वरको व्यवस्थासँग खुशी छु।
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 तर म मेरो शरीरमा अर्कै व्यवस्थाले काम गरिरहेको पाउँछु। त्यो विधान मभित्रको विधानसित झगडा गरिरहेछ। त्यो अर्को विधान पापको विधान हो अनि त्यसले मलाई कैदी बनाउँछ।
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 म कति दयनीय छु! मृत्यु ल्याउने यस कुराबाट मलाई कसले बचाउँछ?
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 परमेश्वरले मलाई बचाउनु हुनेछ! म उहाँलाई हाम्रो प्रभु येशू ख्रीष्ट मार्फत धन्यवाद चढाउँदछु! यसकारण अब म मानसिक रूपले परमेश्वरको व्यवस्थाको दास हुँ। तर मेरो पापपूर्ण स्वभावमा म पापको विधानको दास छु।
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
