Numbers 22:7
તેણે મોઆબના અને મિદ્યાનના ઉચ્ચકક્ષાના આગેવાનોને સંદેશવાહકો તરીકે મોકલ્યા હતા. જદુમંતરની દક્ષિણા સાથે તેઓએ બલામ પાસે આવીને તેને બાલાકનો સંદેશો કહી સંભળાવ્યો.

તેઓને અફસોસ! આ લોકો કાઈન જે માર્ગે ગયો તેને અનુસર્યા. પૈસા બનાવવાની ઈચ્છાથી તેઓ પોતે બલામ જે ખોટા માર્ગે ગયો તેની પાછળ ગયા. કોરાહની જેમ આ લોકો દેવની વિરૂદ્ધમાં લડ્યા છે. અને કોરાહની માફક જ, તેઓનો નાશ થશે.

આ લોકોએ સત્યનો પંથ ત્યાગી દીધો છે અને તેઓએ ખરાબ માર્ગ પસંદ કર્યો છે. બલામ ગયો હતો તે જ રસ્તાને તેઓ અનુસર્યા છે. બલામ બયોરનો પુત્ર હતો. ખોટા કામ કરવા માટે જે વળતર ચૂકવાનુ હતુ તેના પર તે મોહિત થયો.

વડીલ એવો હોવો જોઈએ કે જે એવા લોકોને સ્પષ્ટ બતાવી શકે કે તેઓની માન્યતા ખોટી છે, અને તેઓને નકામી બાબતો વિષે બોલતા બંધ કરી દે. જેનો ઉપદેશ તેઓએ આપવા જેવો નથી એવી બાબતનો ઉપદેશ આપીને તે લોકો આખા કુટુંબનો નાશ કરી રહ્યા છે. તેઓ લોકોને માત્ર છેતરવા અને પૈસા બનાવવા એવું બધું શીખવી રહ્યા છે.

ધનવાન થવાની ઈચ્છા રાખતા લોકો પોતે જ પ્રલોભનોની જાળમાં પકડાય છે. તેઓને ઘણી બધી ચિત્ર-વિચિત્ર વસ્તુઓ મેળવી લેવાની ઈચ્છા થાય છે, કે જે ચીજે તેઓને નુકસાન કે આઘાત આપનારી નીવડે છે. એ વસ્તુઓ લોકોને પાયમાલ કરીને તેઓનો સર્વનાશ આણે છે.

રોમનોને પત્ર 16:18
એવા લોકો આપણા પ્રભુ ખ્રિસ્તની સેવા કરતા નથી. તેઓ ખ્રિસ્તને માનતા નથી. તેઓ તો ફક્ત પોતાની જાતને મઝા પડે એવાં કામો કરતા ફરે છે. જે સીધા-સાદા લોકો ભૂંડું કે પાપ વિષે કશું જાણતા નથી, એમનાં સરળ અને ભોળાં મનને ભરમાવવા તેઓ મીઠી-મીઠી કાલ્પનિક વાતો કરે છે.
