Genesis 18:26
ત્યારે યહોવાએ કહ્યું, “જો મને સદોમ નગરમાં 50 સારા લોકો મળશે તો, હું આખા નગરને બચાવી લઈશ.”

તે છતાં જો તેનો દશમો ભાગ પણ બચી જાય, તો તેને ફરીથી બાળી નાખવામાં આવશે. જ્યારે મોટું ઝાડ કાપી નાખવામાં આવે છે ત્યારે ઠૂંઠા બાકી બચે છે. ઇસ્રાએલના બાકી રહેલા લોકો તે ઠૂંઠા જેવા હશે.

ઇસ્રાએલીઓ સાગરની રેતી જેટલા હશે, તોયે તેમાંથી ફકત થોડા બાકી રહેલા માણસો જ પાછા આવશે, એમનો વિનાશ નિર્માઈ ચૂક્યો છે, અને પ્રતિશોધ તો પૂરની જેમ આવી રહ્યો છે.

તે દિવસે મિસર તથા આશ્શૂરની સાથે ત્રીજો ઇસ્રાએલ ભળશે, તે પૃથ્વી પર આશીર્વાદરૂપ થઇ જશે.

“આ ભયંકર આપત્તિના દિવસો લોકોને ખાતર ઓછા કરવામાં આવશે. જો તેમ ન થયું હોત તો કોઈ માણસ બચી શકત નહિ. પરંતુ દેવના પસંદ કરાયેલા માણસો માટે જ આ દિવસો ઘટાડવામાં આવશે.
