ઈસુ હાકેમ પિલાત સમક્ષ ઊભો રહ્યો. પિલાતે તેને પ્રશ્ર્નો પૂછયાં, તેણે કહ્યું, “શું તું યહૂદિઓનો રાજા છે?”ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “હા, હું છું.”

પછી યહૂદાએ ઈસુને કહ્યું, “ઉપદેશક, ચોક્કસ હું તારી વિરૂદ્ધ જઈશ નહિ.” (યહૂદા તે એક છે જે ઈસુને તેના દુશ્મનોને સોંપશે.)ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “હા તું તે જ છું.”

ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “હા, હું દેવનો પુત્ર છું અને ભવિષ્યમાં તમે માણસના પુત્રને તેના (દેવ) પરાક્રમની જમણી બાજુએ બેઠેલો જોશો. અને તમે માણસના પુત્રને આકાશનાં વાદળો પર આવતો જોશો.”

ઈસુએ કહ્યું, “હા, હું છું. ભવિષ્યમાં તમે માણસના દીકરાને દેવની જમણી બાજુએ બેઠેલો જોશો અને તમે માણસના દીકરાને આકાશના વાદળા પર આવતો જોશો.”

ચેલાઓ પોતાના ગુરૂ જેવા બનવામાં અને દાસે તેના શેઠ જેવા બનવામાં સંતોષ માનવો જોઈએ. જો ઘરના ધણીને જ બાલઝબૂલ (શેતાન) કહેવામાં આવે તો પછી ઘરના બીજા સભ્યોને કેવા નામથી સંબોધશે!

તમને હાકેમો તથા રાજાઓ સમક્ષ હાજર કરવામાં આવશે. આ બધું મારા લીધે તમને કરવામાં આવશે. તમે ત્યારે મારા વિષે એ બધાને કહેજો.
