“જે કોઈ વસ્તુ ઉપર એમનું શબ પડે તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. એવી કોઈ પણ લાકડાની અથવા કપડાંની અથવા ચામડાની અથવા કંતાનની નિત્યના વપરાશની વસ્તુને પાણીમાં ધોઈ નાખવી. પણ તે સાંજ સુધી અશુદ્ધ ગણાય. ત્યાર પછી તેનો ઉપયોગ થઈ શકે.

“જો તમારામાંનો કોઇ તેના કપડાંની ઘડીમાં અપિર્ત માંસ લઇ જતો હોય, અને તેનો સ્પર્શ રોટલી, ભાજી, તેલ કે કોઇ પણ અન્ન, દ્રાક્ષાને કે માંસને થાય, તો શું તે પણ પવિત્ર થઇ જાય?”

જેવી દેવની ઈચ્છા હતી તેવી વ્યથા તમારી હતી. હવે જુઓ કે તે વ્યથા તમને શું પ્રદાન કરે છે: તે વ્યથા તમારામાં ઘણી ગંભીરતા લાવી. તમે ખોટા ન હતા તેવું પૂરવાર કરવાની તેણે તમને પ્રેરણા આપી. તેણે તમને ક્રોધિત તેમજ ભયભીત બનાવ્યા. મને મળવા માટે તેણે તમને પ્રેરણા આપી. તેણે તમને વધારે સમર્પિત બનાવ્યા. તેણે તમને ન્યાયી બાબત કરવાની ઈચ્છાવાળા બનાવ્યા. તમે સાબિત કર્યુ કે તમે આ બાબતમાં સંપૂર્ણ નિર્દોષ હતા.
