સર્વ ઇસ્રાએલીઓ, તેમના આગેવાનો, અમલદારો અને ન્યાયાધીશો દેવના કરારકોશની બધી તરફ લેવી યાજકો જે તે લઈ ગયા તેની સામે ઊભા હતા. યહોવાના સેવક મૂસાએ યહોવાના ઇસ્રાએલીઓ પર આશીર્વાદ ઉચ્ચારણ કરવાના વિષે આપેલ આદેશ પ્રમાંણે અડધા ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ એબાલ પર્વત તરફ મોંઢું કર્યું અને બીજા અડધાએ ગરીઝીમ પર્વત તરફ મોંઢું કર્યું.
