યહોશુઆએ ‘આય’ ના રાજાને સાંજ સુધી જાડ પર ઉંધે માંથે લટકાવી રાખ્યો, પરંતુ સૂર્યાસ્ત સમયે તેના શરીરને જાડ ઉપરથી ઉતાર્યું અને યહોશુઆના આદેશ પ્રમાંણે નગરના દરવાજા આગળ નાખીને તેના પર પથ્થરોનો ઢગલો કર્યો, જે આજે પણ ત્યાં જ છે.
