આ નિયમનું કારણ છે કે જયારે તમે મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા, ત્યારે આ પ્રજાએ પાણી અને રોટલી લઈને માંર્ગમાં તમને આવકાર પણ આપ્યો નહિ. વળી તમને શ્રાપ આપવા તેઓએ અરામનાહરાઈમના પથોરથી બયોરના પુત્ર બલામને પૈસાની લાલચ આપી બો લાવ્યો.

હે મારા લોકો, યાદ રાખજો કે મોઆબના રાજા બાલાકે કેવી રીતે અનિષ્ટ યોજના કરી હતી, અને બયોરના પુત્ર બલામે તેનો કેવી રીતે ઉત્તર આપ્યો હતો? યાદ રાખજો કે શિટ્ટીમથી ગિલ્ગાલને શું બન્યું હતું, જેથી તમે યહોવાના ન્યાયી કાર્યોને સમજી શકશો.”
