યર્દન નદીની પૂર્વમાં બેથ-પેઓર નગર પાસે મૂસાએ આ વચનો કહી સંભળાવ્યાં. અગાઉ આ દેશ અમોરીઓના રાજા સીહોનના કબજામાં હતો, તેની રાજધાની હેશ્બોન હતી. મૂસા તથા ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ મિસરમાંથી આવતાં એ રાજાને હરાવ્યો હતો.
