Jeremiah 46:8
મિસર નીલ નદીની જેમ ઉભરાય છે, જેમ નદીઓ તેમના કાંઠા પર પૂરથી ફરી વળે છે. તે કહે છે, ‘હું ઉપર ચઢીશ અને આખી પૃથ્વીને ઢાકી દઇશ, હું શહેરોને અને તેના વતનીઓને તાણી જઇશ.’

| and he saith, | וַיֹּ֗אמֶר | wayyōʾmer | va-YOH-mer |
| up, go will I | אַֽעֲלֶה֙ | ʾaʿăleh | ah-uh-LEH |
| and will cover | אֲכַסֶּה | ʾăkasse | uh-ha-SEH |
| the earth; | אֶ֔רֶץ | ʾereṣ | EH-rets |
| destroy will I | אֹבִ֥ידָה | ʾōbîdâ | oh-VEE-da |
| the city | עִ֖יר | ʿîr | eer |
| and the inhabitants | וְיֹ֥שְׁבֵי | wĕyōšĕbê | veh-YOH-sheh-vay |
