Jeremiah 39:5
પરંતુ બાબિલવાસીઓના લશ્કરે તેમનો પીછો કર્યો અને યરીખોના મેદાનમાં સિદકિયાને પકડી પાડ્યો. તેઓ તેને કેદ પકડી હમાથના પ્રદેશમાં રિબ્લાહ ખાતે બાબિલના રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર સમક્ષ લઇ ગયા અને તેના પર કામ ચલાવવામાં આવ્યું.

પરંતુ જો તમે બહાર જઇ તેને શરણે નહિ જાઓ, તો તેઓનું સૈન્ય આ નગરને આગ લગાડશે અને તમે તેઓનાં હાથમાંથી બચવા નહિ પામો.”‘

તેઓ વિદેશી પ્રજાઓ વચ્ચે સ્થિર થયા છે. અને તેમની પાસે વિશ્રામનું સ્થળ નથી. યહૂદાની પ્રજા દેશવટે ગઇ છે. તેમને સખત પરિશ્રમ કરવા માટે મજબૂર કરાય છે. જેઓએ તેમનો પીછો કર્યો હતો તેમણે તેઓને પકડી લીધા છે. તેઓ ભાગી શક્યા નહિ.

મારી તરફથી ખૂબ શકિતશાળી પવન તમારી તરફ દોડયો આવશે. હવે હું તમારી વિરુદ્ધ મારો ચુકાદો જણાવીશ.”

તેથી યહોવાએ આશ્શૂરના રાજાના સેનાપતિઓને તેમની સામે મોકલ્યા અને તેઓ મનાશ્શાને આંકડી વતી પકડીને જંજીરથી જકડી બાબિલ લઇ ગયા.
