Jeremiah 37:17
સમય જતાં સિદકિયા રાજાએ ગુપ્ત રીતે મહેલમાં તેડી મંગાવ્યો. રાજાએ તેને પૂછયું કે, “આજના દિવસોમાં શું યહોવા તરફથી તને કોઇ સંદેશો મળ્યો છે?”યમિર્યાએ કહ્યું, “હા, સંદેશો મળ્યો છે. બાબિલના રાજાથી તું હાર પામશે.”

પછી રાજા સિદકિયાએ પ્રબોધક યમિર્યાને યહોવાના મંદિરમાં ત્રીજા દરવાજે તેડાવી મંગાવ્યો અને તેને કહ્યું, “મારે તને એક વાત પૂછવી છે; મારાથી કશું છુપાવીશ નહિ.”

રાજા સિદકિયાએ કહ્યું, “સારું તમને યોગ્ય લાગે તેમ કરો. હું તમને રોકી શકતો નથી.”

તેમ છતાં સિદકિયાએ શેલેમ્યાના પુત્ર યહૂકાલને તથા માઅસેયાના પુત્ર યાજક સફાન્યાને યમિર્યા પાસે મોકલીને કહેવડાવ્યું કે, “તું અમારે માટે યહોવા આપણા દેવ પાસે પ્રાર્થના કર.”
