આથી એ લોકોએ યમિર્યાને લઇ જઇને રક્ષકઘરના પ્રાંગણમાં આવેલા રાજકુમાર માલ્ખિયાના ધાતુંના ટાંકામાં તેને ઉતાર્યો. તેઓએ તેને દોરડા વડે નીચે ઉતાર્યો. ધાતુના ટાંકામાં પાણી નહોતું, પણ ફકત કાદવ હતો અને યમિર્યા એ કાદવમાં ખૂંપી ગયો.

“અને યહોવાના કહ્યા પ્રમાણે મારો પિતરાઇ ભાઇ હનામએલ રક્ષકઘરમાં ચોકમાં મારી પાસે આવ્યો અને બોલ્યો, ‘બિન્યામીનના કુળસમુહના દેશમાંના અનાથોથમાં મારું જે ખેતર છે તે તું વેચાતું લે; કારણ કે વારસાનો તથા મૂલ્ય આપીને છોડાવવાનો હક્ક તારો છે.’“તે તારે પોતાને માટે વેચાતું લે, ત્યારે મેં જાણ્યું કે આ તો યહોવાનું વચન છે.

સિદકિયા રાજાએ યમિર્યાને કેદ કર્યો હતો, કારણ કે તેણે ભવિષ્યવચન કહેવાનું સતત ચાલું રાખ્યું હતું કે, “‘બાબિલનો રાજા નગરને જીતી લેશે.

ત્યારબાદ યમિર્યાએ બારૂખને આ પ્રમાણે કહ્યું, “મને યહોવાના મંદિરમાં જવાનો નિષેધ છે.

તેથી નબૂઝારઅદાનને મુખ્ય દરબારી નબૂશાઝબાનને વડા અધિકારી નેર્ગાલ-શારએસેરને અને બાબિલના રાજાના બધા મુખ્ય અમલદારોને મોકલ્યા.
