વળી યોશિયાના પુત્ર યહોયાકીમના રાજ્યશાસન દરમ્યાન તેમ જ તે પછી યોશિયાના પુત્ર સિદકિયાના રાજ્યના અગિયારમા વર્ષ સુધી એ સંભળાતી રહી. એ વર્ષના પાંચમા મહિનામાં યરૂશાલેમના લોકોને દેશનિકાલ કરવામાં આવ્યા.

સિદકિયા ગાદીએ આવ્યો ત્યારે તેની ઉંમર 21 વર્ષની હતી, તેણે યરૂશાલેમમાં અગિયાર વર્ષ રાજ્ય કર્યું. તેની માતાનું નામ હમૂટાલ હતું અને તે લિબ્નાહના યમિર્યાની પુત્રી હતી.

બાબિલના રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સારે યહૂદિયાના નવા રાજા તરીકે યહોયાકીમ રાજાના પુત્ર કોન્યાની નિમણૂંક કરી નહિ, પણ તેને બદલે તેણે યોશિયાના પુત્ર સિદકિયાની પસંદગી કરી.
