ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 124

1 ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો કબૂલ કરતાં કહે; જો યહોવા અમારા પક્ષમાં ન હોત.

2 હા, જ્યારે લોકોએ અમારા પર હુમલો કર્યો ત્યારે જો યહોવા અમારા પક્ષમાં ન હોત.

3 તો દુશ્મનો અમને જીવતા ગળી ગયા હોત; અને તેઓના કોપથી અમારો નાશ થયો હોત.

4 ત્યારે પાણીની રેલમાં અમે તણાઇ ગયા હોત; અને પાણીએ અમને ડૂબાડી દીધા હોત.

5 તે અભિમાની માણસોએ અમને પાણીમાં ડૂબાડી દીધા હોત.

6 યહોવાને ધન્ય છે કે જેણે અમને તેઓના દાંતમાં શિકાર તરીકે પકડાવા ન દીધા, અને તેમણે અમારો નાશ થવા દીધો નહિ.

7 જેમ પારધીની જાળમાંથી પક્ષી છટકી જાય; તેમ અમારા જીવ બચી ગયા છે; જાળ તૂટી ગઇ છે અને અમે બચી ગયા છીએ.

8 આકાશ અને પૃથ્વીના સર્જનહાર; યહોવા જ અમારા મદદગાર છે.

2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

3 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

4 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

5 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

6 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

7 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

8 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

9 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
