ઇસ્રાએલના દેવ યહોવા મોઆબ વિષે આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે કે, “નબોનું આવી બન્યું! તે ભોંય ભેંગુ થઇ ગયું છે, કિર્યાથાઇમને લાંછન લાગ્યું છે, તે જીતાઇ ગયું છે. તેનો કિલ્લો તોડી પાડવામાં આવ્યો છે! હવે મોઆબનું ગૌરવ નથી રહ્યું!

ત્યારે હું તેમને શિક્ષા કરીશ અને તેમના સમગ્ર પ્રદેશને વેરાન વગડો બનાવી દઇશ. રણમાં આવેલા રિબ્બાથી માંડીને દરેક પ્રદેશ જ્યાં તેઓ રહ્યાં હતાં તેનો વિનાશ થશે. ત્યારે તેમને ખબર પડશે કે હું યહોવા છું.”
