Esther 3:1
ત્યારબાદ થોડા સમય પછી અહાશ્વેરોશ રાજાએ અગાગી હામ્મદાથાના પુત્ર હામાનને ઊંચી પદવીએ ચઢાવ્યો. તેને બધા અમલદારોથીં ઉંચી પદવી આપવામાં આવી.

એસ્તેરે જવાબ આપ્યો, “આ દુષ્ટ હામાન અમારો શત્રુ છે,”આ સાંભળીને હામાન રાજા અને રાણીની સામે ડરવા લાગ્યો.

બુદ્ધિમાન માણસો જે રાજાની ખૂબ નજીક હતાં તે કાર્શના, શેથાર આદમાથા, તાશીર્શ, મેરેસ, માર્સના, અને મમૂખાન જેવા સૌથી નજીકના માણસો હતા. એ સાતે ઇરાનના અને માદાયના નેતાઓ હતા. તેઓ રાજાને સીધા મળી શકતા હતા, અને રાજ્યમાં ઉંચી પદવીઓ ધરાવતા હતા.
