પરંતુ યાકૂબે કહ્યું, “પહેલાં તું સમ લે કે, તું મને તે આપીશ.” તેથી એસાવે યાકૂબ આગળ સમ ખાધા. અને એસાવે પોતાના પિતાની મિલકતનો પોતાનો ભાગ યાકૂબને આપ્યો અને પોતાનો પ્રથમ પુત્રનો હક્ક પણ યાકૂબને વેચી દીધો.
