એઝરા બાબિલથી આવ્યો, તે એક મહાન શિક્ષક હતો. જે ઇસ્રાએલના દેવ યહોવાએ આપેલા મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં ઘણો નિપૂણ હતો. તેના પર યહોવાની કૃપા હતી તેથી રાજાએ તેની સર્વ અરજ મંજૂર રાખી.
