Ecclesiastes 2:21
મનુષ્ય પોતાના જીવનમાં ડાહપણ, જ્ઞાન તથા કુશળતાથી પોતાના કામ કરે, પણ એ સર્વ એક દિવસ એવી વ્યકિતના હાથમાં જશે જેણે તેના માટે કઇ કામ કર્યું નથી. કોઇ પણ જાતની કિંમત ચૂકવ્યાં વિના તે વારસ બને છે.આ વ્યર્થતા છે અને સાથે અન્યાય છે.

યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ યોગ્ય ગણાય એવું આચરણ તેણે કર્યું, સહેજ પણ આમ કે તેમ ફંટાયા વગર તે પોતાના પિતૃ દાઉદને પગલે ચાલ્યો.

પ્રબોધક શમુએલના વખતથી ઇસ્રાએલમાં કદી પાસ્ખાનું પર્વ આ રીતે ઊજવાયું નહોતું. ઇસ્રાએલના કોઇ પણ રાજાએ યોશિયાની પેઠે પાસ્ખાનું પર્વ યાજકો, લેવીઓ, હાજર રહેલા બધા યહૂદાવાસીઓ તથા ઇસ્રાએલવાસીઓ અને યરૂશાલેમના વતનીઓ સાથે કદી ઊજવ્યું નહોતું.

યહોયાકીમ ગાદીએ આવ્યો ત્યારે તેની ઊંમર 25 વર્ષની હતી અને તેણે યરૂશાલેમમાં અગિયાર વર્ષ રાજ્ય કર્યુ.

યુદ્ધશસ્રો કરતાં બુદ્ધિ શ્રેષ્ઠ છે; પણ એક જ પાપી માણસ ઘણા સારા લોકોનો નાશ કરી શકે છે.
Jeremiah 22:15
પરંતુ ભવ્ય મહેલ બનાવ્યા તેથી કાઇં મહાન રાજા થઇ શકાતું નથી! તારા પિતા યોશિયાએ શા માટે ઘણાં વષોર્ સુધી રાજ કર્યું? કારણ કે તે ન્યાયી હતો અને સર્વ વ્યવહારમાં પ્રામાણિક હતો. તેથી દેવે તેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો હતો.
Jeremiah 22:17
પણ તને તો સ્વાર્થ સિવાય બીજું કશું જોવાને આંખો જ નથી, નથી તને નિદોર્ષનું લોહી રેડવા અને ઘાતકી અત્યાચારો કરવા સિવાય બીજા કશા વિચાર આવતા. આ યહોવાના વચન છે.
