Deuteronomy 12:2
તમે જયાં જયાં ઊચા પર્વતો પર તથા ડુંગરાઓ પર અથવા વૃક્ષોની નીચે તમે જે પ્રજાઓની ભૂમિ કબજે કરો છો તેમની રચેલી વેદીઓ અને સ્થાનકો જુઓ-તે સર્વનો તમાંરે નાશ કરવો.

“પરંતુ તમાંરે તે લોકો સાથે આ પ્રમાંણે વર્તવું: તેમની વેદીઓને તોડી પાડવી, તેમના સ્તંભોને ભાંગી નાખવા, તેઓની ધિક્કારપાત્ર પ્રતિમાંઓને તોડી નાખવી અને તેમની મૂર્તિઓને બાળી નાખવી.
