Acts 24:19
પણ આસિયાના કેટલાએક યહૂદિઓ ત્યાં હતા. તેઓએ અહીં તારી સમક્ષ ઊભા રહેવું જોઈએ. જો મેં ખરેખર કોઇ ખોટું કર્યુ હોય તો આસિયાના પેલા યહૂદિઓ જે છે તેણે મારા પર તહોમત મૂકવું જોઈએ. તેઓ ત્યાં હતા!

મારું ધ્યાન દોરવામાં આવ્યું હતું કે કેટલાએક યહૂદિઓએ પાઉલને મારી નાખવાની યોજના ઘડી રહ્યા હતા. તેથી હું તેને તમારી પાસે મોકલું છું. મેં તે ફરિયાદીઓને પણ તેમને તેની સામે જે વિરોધ હોય તે કહેવા કહ્યું છે.

પરંતુ મેં જવાબ આપ્યો. “જ્યારે કોઈ માણસ પર કંઈક ખોટું કરવાના તહોમતો મૂકવામાં આવે તો રોમનો બીજા લોકોને તે માણસનો ન્યાય કરવા માટે આપતા ન હતા. પ્રથમ તે માણસને જે માણસોએ તેની સામે ફરિયાદ કરી હોય તેનો સામનો કરવાની તક આપવી જોઈએ. અને તેને તેઓએ તેની વિરૂદ્ધ કરેલી ફરિયાદોનો બચાવ તેની જાતે કરવાની પરવાનગી પણ આપવી જોઈએ.
